I just posted my Secret Santa today and was told it should get there by the fourth of July, so here's hoping the post man does tell fibs to the customers!!
I also hope it is a pleasing surprise for my "secret" friend. Leaving for the family reunion on Thursday and hope to check back before we leave. To everyone have a happy and safe July 4th celebration with you and yours, I certainly plan on a great day with all of my mother's family and my own of course!!!

    Hi, Secret Reader!

This is one mixed-up Santa here, or perhaps an Elf-In-Training, because we are heading your way on a summer gift-giving tour.

Or maybe the whole crew from Santa's workshop wanted to leave the frozen North Pole and travel hot South (and from the North Pole, all destinations are South!) and don their fur-lined swim suits and bikinis for a vacation of swimming, sailing, fishing, and sun bathing. And those reindeer sure like eating those big edible orniments off the funny-looking Christmas trees...or wait, somebody just said those trees are coconut palms.

Anyway, the elves, reindeer, and I are leaving your gift under one of those...um...PALM trees on the beach for you.

We should be there in about 3-4 days or a week at most, depending on how many tourist traps trap us.

    Enjoy!

I got "The Well of Ascension" by Brandon Sanderson. Thanks so much - I'm partway through the first book right now and I was just thinking a few days ago that I'd need to pick this up soon!!! :)

I haven't sent my book out yet. I just got it earlier this week and I work 8-5 Monday thru Friday, so Saturday is my only post office day and this week was out because of the holiday. I'm going to see if a friend can drop off the book sometime this week but at latest it will be sent on the 11th. Sorry for the delay but between working for a company whose biggest store sells/manufacturers flags (this time of year is NUTS!!!) and planning to go out of the country in less than two weeks, I've been beyond swamped!

A Very Mixed-Up Santa apparently forgot to take his naughty or nice list with her to Portland for her summer vacation. Or maybe his elf-in-training hid the list felt sorry for me and she sent me too very nice hard cover books.

    1) Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
    2) The Help: A Novel by Kathryn Stockett.

    Thank You Elf-in-Training (aka Marguerite).

P.S. Please be careful with the when handling the reindeer's on your way back to Portland (or The North Pole). I would hate for the Mojitos to cause you not to notice the Coconut Palms and have an accident. See you in December.

    Hi, again, Sharon the Great!

Hi, Sharon! I will be reading Midwife's Apprentice probably in a couple of weeks. It sounds good.

Right now, paperbackswap.com kinda sorta dictates the order of books I read, since I do have posted books with them that I haven't read yet. Ouch!

Double ouch! I am so embarrassed. The bookmark you sent me, the one with the beautiful blue spirit woman with winged ears, I loved it. Thank you. I am sorry that I forgot to mention it in my group post. It is currently being put to good use.

Thank you to my Secret Santa, Monique in California, for the amazingly awesome books! I received This Place Has No Atmosphere by Paula Danziger, Bono in Conversation with Michka Assayas and Like Normal People by Karen E. Bender. I was so excited to receive your package and even more excited when I opened it. I'm going to start reading Bono first because I've sneaked so many peeks of it at books.google.com that they won't let me look at it anymore. I can't wait to read the whole thing! :o) Thank you so much again for your generosity. This was my first time to do the book swap. Reply soon so I can thank you again!
