    The Thorn Birds

    Yeap I agree 100%! After Shogun with Richard Chamberlain and the next movie The Thorn Birds I thought this would have to be a great read......YAWN. I still have it on my shelf...have this thing about not being able to get rid of a book. I see a number of people such as yourself have read The Egg and I. When I put that on my shelf I thought NO ONE else would have ever read it. THAT was a good read. So was Shogun.

    I agree with you, The Thornbirds is not a nice book.It could have been great,but it just wasnt. Coleen Mcculough must be a sad woman.From Meggies mum, to meggie, everything was sad about the book.Not that sadness in a book is bad but there were very rare moments of happiness between people that loved eachother.A sad conlusion is one thing,but a sad everything, is another.
