Everyone loves Poirot and Marple..Which novel do you consider the best that does not feature either of these super detectives??

Yeah I agree, definitely And Then There Were None; just consider the plot was re-used by how many authors later...

I like the murder of Roger Ackroyd too, but Poirot's there in it. So, it doesn't count as a novel without Poirot or Marple.

my favourite sans the great twosome is definitely "The Mysterious Mr Quin" featuring an almost spooky character called Harley Quin. This collection of short stories is almost mystical and Christie elevates her work onto a very different plane - the power to decide between good and evil. Quin is also one of the most attractive characters in her repertoire, and there is a lot of tender emotion that she evokes in the interaction between Quin and the others, especially the old and gentle Mr Satterthwaite.

Firstly, no Poirot no work like a charm, no Marple no magic.

Secondly, we can elicit one or two novels without her fascinated detectives: crooked house and easy to kill also know as murder is easy, depend which edition you have read, i can't really remember who is the detective in it but i can feel until know its JOY.

I love Why Didn't they Ask Evans and The Man in the Brown Suit. But since Crooked House got so many votes I'm going to have to re-read that one! I also really enjoyed the collection of short stories she did with Mr. Parker Pyne and his classifieds ad "are you happy? if not, call Mr. Parker Pyne ..."
