What occult book are you reading right now? What are your reasons for reading it? Would you recommend it to others?

I just finished the new edition of Amber K's True Magick. I liked it, although she spent a bit of time on the whole Physics aspect of magick.... which i personally am not at all interested in. She gives good exercises and suggested reading lists though.

That book was recommended to me long ago, but I never picked it up. I am told it is a classic and should be on every pagan's book shelf, but your mileage may vary.

Hmmm... so many paths...so many books.

You mention something you are NOT interested in, but what ARE you interested in? For example: Tarot, Astral Magic, Spells, results oriented magic, ceremonial magic, etc. :D

I don't want to just throw a bunch of books in your face without a slightly more narrow margin of error. :D

I have a horrible tendency to read 3 to 6 books at the same time. I am a student of a couple of initiatory traditions (which mostly work well together) so my reading list is always extensive.

With the holidays, finals, wrapping up my degree program, and critical projects blowing up at work, I have not had much time for reading. Now that everything has blown up nicely and I am a whole lot less stress, I plan on focusing my attention on Tarot and Tattwas.

For Tattwas, I plan on working the exercises in John Mumford's book Magical Tattwa Cards. For Tarot, I plan to reread Mary Greer's Tarot for Yourself. A very comprehensive workbook I enjoyed for a study group a few years ago.

JUST STARTED TO READ "WITCHCRAFT, THE SIXTH SENSE" BY JUSTINE GLASS.
MY AUNT FOUND A COPY AT A SECONDHAND STORE AND BROUGHT IT ON HER JOURNEY. I SAW IT AND BOUGHT MY OWN COPY AT BARNES AND NOBLE. SO FAR,SO GOOD.

I'm currently reading "A Practical Guide to the Runes" by Lisa Peschel. .... Actually, I'm currently RE-reading this one. Okay, you twisted my arm. It's my fourth consecutive time reading it!

Isn't it interesting how something (such as runes in my case) can go unnoticed for so long then come back later to whack us over the head with the frying pan of enlightenment. :)

I am enjoying the book, I Do, by Doris Trueheart. I like the discussion on visitations by spirits and dream and dream interpretation.

I am currently reading Tarot For Your Self by Mary K Greer and A Path of Alchemy by Mark Stavish. A friend and I have begun a Tarot study group and are working through TFYS. Alchemy is just for the chemistry geek in me! Squeee!!
