I apologize if this book has been discussed. I have not been on Shelfaria for awhile.

Has anyone read this book? It is about a 5th grade boy, but I really think it would be a good book for children/adults of all ages to read. It was a very touching book that helps to deal with the idea of acceptance of all people and less pre-judging based on physical apperance. What are your thoughts?

Hi, just joined. I've found that it's one of the best books that I've read in a long time. Made me think of Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne and A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. While I didn't cry, like I did with the Patrick Ness book, it really touched me and made me actively try and search out more books like it. I'm not one who likes books that make me cry, but it made me realise what I was missing and so I instantly started up a list of books in the same kind of genre.

I enjoyed the way the book was divided up with different view points, so it wasn't only Auggie Pullman's and you could see how the world reacted to him, not only how Auggie reacted to them. It's a very interesting and different way for a reader to make their way through the journey of Auggies first year at school.

Don't want to say much more, as I'd probably just end up spoiling the book and I'd prefer anyone who wanted to read it to go in there with only an inkling of the joy they'll find.

I enjoyed the novel too. I recommend it to other adults, especially those who don't normally read YA.
