I read the first 50 pages when I could not take another mis-used conjunction. Now, I am well aware that many good writers will intentionally make mistakes to grab attention or for discordance etc.
But Brown's misuse of conjunctions achieve none of the above, in fact they're very irritating to read. ex. "He only slept an hour, BUT he was still tired."
"He was an aged man and loosing his good looks, BUT he did not appreciate the full length mirror in his hotel room."
grrrr. Someone needs to go back to Harvard to learn correct usage.
