I hate The Da Vinci Code

* Do you feel like flipping out every time some ditzy guy or girl starts prattling on about what a deep meaningful experience The Da Vinci Code was?

* Did you power through it in an afternoon and wonder what was wrong with the person who recommended it to you?

* Do you put down new books after seeing a recommendation from...more »

    Dan Brown and Conjunctions

I read the first 50 pages when I could not take another mis-used conjunction. Now, I am well aware that many good writers will intentionally make mistakes to grab attention or for discordance etc.
But Brown's misuse of conjunctions achieve none of the above, in fact they're very irritating to read. ex. "He only slept an hour, BUT he was still tired."
"He was an aged man and loosing his good looks, BUT he did not appreciate the full length mirror in his hotel room."
grrrr. Someone needs to go back to Harvard to learn correct usage.

seriously i couldn't understand how much it is being celebrated! they read it just because of the intrigues.... no one even recognized how annoying the plot was and how poorly it was written....

Well, I'm the last one to pick on someone's grammar, but that's just BAD! I couldn't finish The DaVinci Code, or Angels and Demons. Dan Brown has got to be one of the most hyped author in this century and the most disappointing.

I scanned through The Digital Fortress and just couldn't understand why people idolozed this guy. His style is definitely bad!

I think Dan Brown is secretly Stephenie Meyer in reverse drag.

well, having never read any Stephanie Meyer myself...at least it's only 15 year old girls who take her writing seriously.

Dan Brown, by contrast, has many fans who really ought to know better.
