  Patrice Lumumba and the Congo

  I am finishing a novel called ALBERTVILLE, which focuses on the rise and fall of patrice Lumumba as seen through the eyes of a young black woman from Alabama. If anyone has any details or information they would like to share regarding Lumumba and the Congo, I would be very appreciative of your input.

  There's a really terrific film in French about Lumumba. The title, translated from the French, is "Lumumba, Death of a Prophet." The filmmaker, if I remember right, is Belgian. It's really worth seeing.

    A long time ago I contacted an African film maker named Sembene, I think. Ultimately, he did a movie on Lumumba. I will look for Death of a Prophet. If you come up with a name, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your reply. peter
