    Learning to market

    Save Changes Cancel
    Hello out there,

    My name is Anita Larrison,

I am the author of Lessons In Blood The Beginning, and Lessons In Blood The Escape. I had a blast writing these two vampire ebooks. It was also lots and lots of hard work. This is all new to me, and I was hoping someone could give me advice on Marketing my ebooks. I'd also love to meet friends. I'm looking for others who write like myself to build friendships! I'd love to be your friend, read your ebooks and help you with your marketing just let me know what I can do to help...

    Greetings and welcome to you!
I've also found the world of writing and storytelling to be a different one entirely to that of marketing. I'm also learning that aspect, and will try to not step in traps. Thus, reading the experience of those who have come before us is a great tool. I appreciate having this forum, for example.
I'll see if I can take a look at your ebook, but it may take a bit. Feel free to look through the sample of DESIRE: The Key as well.
    Thanks,
    Ken

First, understand that Marketing takes time. You can not expect results overnight.

First do you have a good cover & and good description of your books? Get other people's advice on this, you might not be the best judge.

Second, you should setup some combination of website, blog, facebook page and twitter account. There is software out there that will link them all together which will save you time and energy.

Finally you need to just get the word out. Old fashion press releases, post on websites and so on. Engage people online and then make a small plug for your bok.

    I hope this helps.

Good info Gerds. I've been marketing my book Drasmyr for several months now. It is slow going, but I think I'm making progress. One important lesson I've learned is don't spread yourself too thin. A blog is a must. Facebook and Twitter are musts, but beyond that things can wear you out real quick if you just keep piling on the latest greatest web--thing and expect yourself to keep up. As it is, I'm on both Goodreads and Shelfari, and I'm not sure if that is a wise decision. Part of me thinks, it would probably be better to stick with one and leave it at that. But we'll see.
