I think the title says it all! I teach English Literature at university level, but my actual passion personally has been for children's and Young Adult's literature. Anything relating to these age groups- from nursery rhymes tocritical analysis is welcome here. Anyone who would like to go back to ttheir child hood, do join up! Sindhu

Romance novel suggestions for 8th grade.

My eighth grade girls love sparks' "A Walk to Remember" and are requesting more books like it besides Twilight. Any suggestions?

I've steered my 7th grade students towards some of the classic romances, too. I can't keep Rebecca on my shelf and some of my girls have even reached for Gone with the Wind (though there are some serious issues with race in this book). I just finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, and I think readers of Twilight will like it, too. I'll ask my girls for more titles during our next Reading Workshop.
