Soulmates

In the utopian land of Solaria, a city where everything is seemingly polished and orderly, every citizen is born with a mark. Now, these aren't ordinary marks, like a freckle or a mole. No. These are tattoos of sorts that appear somewhere on your body as you grow older, reading the name of your soulmate. Yes, your soulmate. The person that your...more »

    Lucius Grimoire.

The smirk that curled the man's pale mouth was nearly sinister in nature. ADRIAN READING, the barbed lettering spelled out - and oh, how that had sent a shiver of excitement and pure, unrestrained longing through his entire being. Rolling his shoulders, Lucius rose to his feet soundlessly, liquid-silver eyes surveying the art-room with a pleased gaze.

The smudged ink had cleared the moment he had stepped foot on the campus grounds - and although he was surprised at the apparent age difference (several years, he mused) - he disregarded it in favor of the irrational joy that swept through him. Finally, he had thought. Ever since he had left the Grimoire household, he had watched his Mark form, like that of splattered paint.

Mouth quirked into a grin, the dark-haired man slid the door to the Art room open absently, the stale air of Clarity High School filling his nose. "Adrian Reading," he murmured throatily, his eyes sweeping down the hallway. "Just where are you in this place?" He scrubbed a hand over his scarred features, pursing his lips. Christ, his mind moaned. I might not even have him as a student! How would I find him then?

      Adrian Reading

The ink slowly moved around, little splotches shifting across the pale expanse of the limited skin of his inner wrist. Wide blue eyes stared at the Mark slowly, very slowly, shifting to form a letter.

Now, despite being in college - which Adrian reminded himself constantly, because he was a smart college student - Adrian found himself in Clarity High. Why, you might wonder, is he in the high school. Well, there was an easy answer to that too. The dark haired boy had come to get some forms that he needed from the counsellor. Which, unfortunately for him, meant walking through the many hallways around the school.

Shuddering slightly, the boy looked up from his wrist, glancing at the familiar - danger, danger - hallways with a critical eye and an almost-grimace on his face. High School was the most unpleasant time in his opinion, barring the middle school years when the teacher would refuse to answer his questions.

Dark eyes flicked back to the ink - the Mark, more accurately - forming on his wrist, making Adrian unconsciously speed up a few steps. And then it was complete.

LUCIUS GRIMOIRE, announced his Mark cheerfully in elegant black writing, silver swirls spotting the ink. And of course, that was the moment he crashed into a teacher, tumbling to the floor with his laptop.

      Lucius Grimoire.

He hissed, nearly biting the tip of his tongue at the unexpected collision, before swiftly steadying himself against the art-room's door frame. Lucius swallowed the angry sneer that threatened to curve his mouth, staring down in wide-eyed surprise at the fallen boy before him. The other's laptop lay beside him, it's screen seemingly intact: but that wasn't what Lucius was paying attention to.

It was the almost startled look on the young man's features that made his heart pound and mouth dry, his acrylic paint-splattered hands becoming clammy and cold. The boy's inner wrist was displayed and Gods, that was his name that was scrawled across the pale expanse of skin.

"Adrian Reading," he repeated numbly, his voice lowered to a surprised whisper. The Grimoire's throat bobbed, liquid silver eyes lowering as his forefinger and thumb came to pinch the bridge of his glasses; removing them quickly. "I'm Lucius Grimoire." A pause. "Art teacher," he added in a firmer voice.

The older man crouched down, hand brushing against the other's thigh in a discreet caress before offering his hand palm-up. "I imagine the floor is not a comfortable place, Adrian."

And if his voice became a purr whilst saying his Soulmate's name? Well. Things happened.

      Adrian Reading

How does he know my name? I have not even introduced myself yet, was the first thought that ran through the dark haired boy's mind as he stared up at the pale, silver-eyed man staring down at him. And then the man had continued speaking, voice low and swallowing and looking equally surprised.

      "I'm Lucius Grimoire. Art teacher."

And then Adrian was even more surprised - if that was even possible - as he continued staring at the teacher. A pause as the man crouched and said something, but the younger male didn't really hear any of it, brain still stuck over the fact that he had managed to find his Soulmate in the place of his torment, no less.

      "...Adrian."

Blinking a few times, Adrian hesitantly took the offered hand, tugging himself into a s and trying not to stare at his name scrawled across the other man's wrist. It was a futile attempt. Do not stare at others' Marks. It's not appropriate, he told himself firmly, shifting his gaze to fix it on the other man - on Lucius - instead.

"I apologise," started Adrian dazedly, "for the collision. It wasn't my intention." And then his brain was furiously reminding him of the fact that the man opposite him was his Soulmate. Which, of course, led to him staring at the other man's mark again. "I'm Adrian Reading, as you already know. College student."

      Lucius Grimoire.

His lips quirked into an amused smile, eyes lowering back to the other's pale hand with an almost absent fixture. "College?" He questioned, tone light. "What caused you to come back to the Land of Hormonal Idiots?" Lucius quipped, grasping Adrian's hand tightly. His other nimbly scooped up the fallen laptop, tucking it under his arm as he hauled the younger man to his feet, voice firm and that of silk.

The Mark rippled in response to the excitement that thrummed beneath his skin, hot and almost heady, it's letters squirming and warping into something more bolder and large - like a bracelet. A flush went up his spine but he took in a light breath, expelling it with a heavy sigh; the blood subsiding. Suddenly, Lucius was so very thankful for the amount of control he had over his body or else he'd be pink in the face with embarrassment.

He's already making me go soft, Lucius thought sharply, casting Adrian a searching look.

After a moment of hesitance, a soft - slightly strained - smile spread across his mouth and he jerked his head towards the art room. "Would you like to come in, Adrian?"
The older man peered at the other, a flash of unbidden longing crossing his face.

      Adrian Reading

Dusting his clothes with his free hand, Adrian looked up at the two questions asked, flushing lightly when a strangely electric shock went through his system at the contact. Chewing on his lip nervously, he gave the other man a hesitant smile, waving a hand vaguely behind him.

"I had to collect some documents from my counsellor. Unfortunately, I seem to have forgotten the directions to his office," he said, tone slightly self-deprecating, before he was looking back at their still joined hands. "I wouldn't want to impose if you've got a class right now," he added shyly, almost toeing the ground.

And soon I shall be acting like a school girl. It would be completely humiliating, not to mention the bullies would be proven right, should that come to pass. I had not realised how strong the affects of meeting one's Soulmate would be. Or maybe it's just a me thing. A pause as his gaze flickered over the other man. Although, it might be that Lucius is also similarly affected?

Putting the thoughts of researching on his own Mark later, he met the silver gaze again, trying not to let his gaze drift over the scars he could see, even though questions about them buzzed right under his skin.

      Lucius Grimoire.

"I wouldn't want to impose if you've got a class right now."

He barked out a laugh, glancing back to the door. "Nah," he denied smoothly, "Don't have the brats until tomorrow. I just finished unpacking my materials, actually so if you'd like to come in ..." Lucius didn't wait for an answer, instead he clenched his arm around the laptop absently, opening the door with a twist of his wrist. The crisp scent of paints and icy mint caressed his skin, a gust of cold air a nice contrast against his heated flesh.

The older man tugged Adrian inside - not gently but not harshly either - and shut the door closed, molten silver eyes lowering to Adrian's face. "What an odd place," he murmured absently, his fingers coming up to tilt his Soulmate's face upwards, "to meet you. I wish I was dressed better but we have many opportunities to see me in all sorts of things."

The last sentence was said with a teasing lilt to his deep, smooth voice; a helpless shrug taking place as he huffed out a laugh. The ripped, art-smeared jeans and black t-shirt certainly didn't make him distinguishable and if it wasn't for how low his voice was, he was positive he'd be seen as an assistant teacher or even a mature-looking student.

Even if I did have a class, Lucius mused somewhat darkly, I would've dismissed them in a heartbeat if I could be with you.

      Adrian Reading

One second Adrian was about a step away from bolting - because he wasn't afraid to admit that he was on edge because of both the location of where he met his Soulmate and bit because he was also rather socially awkward - and the next he was being ushered (though that probably wouldn't be the right word for it) into the art class. The door closed behind the two with finality, making Adrian flicker back to the numerous horror movies he had watched at one of his old (now an ex friend, definitely) friend's insistence.

And this is the point where I shall be murdered and blood be thrown on the walls. Though I do doubt anyone would notice that in an art class. And I doubt I would release that much blood to actually paint the walls.

Then the thoughts were racing out of his head when a hand gently tilted his face up and silver eyes studied him. The dark haired boy briefly wondered if he should posture for the older man. Then he was pushing the thought away and just watching the other man with wide blue eyes.

"Indeed. I wouldn't have expected us to meet us here of all possible locations," breathed Adrian, gaze lowering slightly as he swallowed. His glasses slipped down his nose a little, making him reach a hand up to push them up his nose and wish he had worn his contacts instead. I had not expected to meet my Soulmate at all, actually. It certainly would have matched the current patterns of my life if I didn't find my Soulmate until I was thirty. There would be all the more reasons to be called a 'freak' by everyone. Though I am hardly bold or impudent.

      Lucius Grimoire.

His mouth twitched, a dark thrill running through him. Lucius lightly tightened his grip on the other's jaw before releasing it, his touch firm and gentle; eyes flickering away and towards the shelves where his paints rested. He was positively itching, his fingers curling to bite into his palms as his gaze slid back to Adrian.

"Perhaps," Lucius drawled, crossing his arms over his chest, "you could come to my place - or even come here after school has ended - and I could paint you." It was incredibly suggestive sounding, he realized, but he really did wish to paint the younger man. His features, albeit pale (like his), were delicate and handsome to his artist's eye. He had no doubt that if he managed to convince Adrian into doing so, he'd end up being awfully forward.

He felt his lip curl in slight disdain at his thoughts, remembering all too clearly the bouts of explosive jealousy and possessiveness he was prone to experiencing.

Not to mention the fact that I'd be demanding. I can only hope Adrian will be able to put up with me.

      Adrian Reading

Adrian blinked rapidly a few times, confusion slowly creeping into his face before he glanced around the room, noting all the paints and the canvas propped in one of the corners. Letting a small smile make his lips curl upwards, he tilted his head to one side and fixed his gaze back on the dark haired man opposite him.

It was confusingly easy to forget that the man in front of him was an art teacher and not the soldier he appeared to be. But surprisingly enough, Adrian thought both suited him well. Maybe it was the easy grace or the tense look he had around himself. He didn't really know what it was, but it was something that definitely worked for him.

"Of course. Is there any particular way I am supposed to prepare myself?" he asked, his own hands hanging by his sides and his gaze moving from the silver eyes to his laptop and then back again. I do wonder why he wants to paint me. It is not like I am appealing to the eye, or even vaguely artistic looking.

His gaze dropped to Adrian's mouth, something vaguely resembling longing flashing across his face. "Whatever you are comfortable with," he said coolly, straightening up from his slouched posture. "Surprise me, if you'd like." Here, Lucius paused, his Adam's Apple bobbing slightly as he swallowed, tongue feeling thick and heavy in his mouth. "I'll give you fifteen minutes for you to prepare yourself when you come over - if we do it at my place, I'll wait in another room. Here, I can just turn away. The doors will be locked from the inside so no one can come in ..."

A slightly peeved expression flickered across his scarred features, his dark, almost elegant brow drawing together. "I don't like it when people interrupt my painting," he admitted wryly. "It's not meant to make you nervous or self-conscious; it's just ... a habit I've picked up."

He reached out with one hand, thumb brushing over Adrian's cheekbone lightly. "You look very delicate," the man murmured. "And very attractive." The calloused digits ghosted across Reading's pale skin, slipping against the bridge of the younger man's glasses, before tracing back down to the other's collarbone. Lucius' touch was feather-light, the tips of his fingers ice-cold from the temperature of the room.

Adrian could admit that he was wondering if they were still talking about painting preparations or something else entirely. He was tempted to say something about knowing nothing on the acts of copulation between two members of the same gender since he had not been able to get that far, but he also really didn't want to spook the other man off. Or come across as a biology teacher. It would be...embarrassing, definitely.

"Am I supposed to pose in the nude for this painting?" he asked, flushing lightly and shivering when cold fingers drifted from his cheek, to nose to collarbone, catching on the skin briefly but otherwise in fluid movements. And the thoughts to standing in the nude while someone painted him? They weren't all that pleasant. It was enough to already make him self conscious and nervous as he exchanged his weight from one foot to the other. "Or am I supposed to bring a change of clothing with me? I don't even know where you reside."

And okay, maybe he was looking forwards to this more than he should be, but right now, the only thing important was the rightness that came with the situation. The relief to something he hadn't even known needed relief. It was like the world was suddenly even better than it was before.

I have to jot down all of these observations soon. It will definitely aid in my research, he noted absently, eyes roving over the other man. He was also tempted take a step forwards and continue with more of the tactile contact - it turned out a Soulmate's touch was something he wasn't that averse to.

      Lucius Grimoire.

His mouth curled into a frightening smirk; a flare of heat making a brief appearance on his otherwise blank face. "Well," Lucius purred, his voice a mere murmur, "I did say you could surprise me. Either way, Adrian, I'd be suitably pleased." The older man huffed out a laugh, fingers still hovering above the flesh of his Soulmate's collarbone. "You needn't feel pressured for I can assure you that I am a very patient man when it comes to waiting." Lips quirking into a rare, genuine smile, Lucius lowered his gaze to where his artist-calloused - military his mind whispered - hands lay.

"And as to where I live?" A brilliant flash of straight, pearly-white teeth; a dazzling grin. "Easily rectified." His hand drooped, the tips of his fingers sliding down Adrian's chest with light, distracted movements. "Do you have a phone? I could give you my number, perhaps. Or write my address down."

Sometimes, Adrian wondered how he turned out to be the perfect easily-blushing-nerdy-weird-freak-gay person he was. Then, other times, he was thankful for at least standing out. Even if it got him bullied a lot. At least it was better now. And he was definitely thankful that he was gay right now. Because he'd heard about some 'straight' people getting paired up with someone of the same gender.

Adrian turned his gaze down, watching the pale hand slide down his chest lightly before he slowly tugged his phone out. It was the newest model he could find - a bit chunky because he had added his own fixtures to it - but functioning.

"Your phone number would be of more use to me. I'm rather scatterbrained at times. I lose addresses rather quickly if they're not on my laptop and I've not saved them properly," admitted the dark haired boy, quirking his lips in a small grin as he met the other's eyes. "I use my phone more anyways."

Lucius merely offers a short nod, reluctantly withdrawing his hand from the other's vicinity to nimbly snatch up Adrian's phone. He fumbles with it for a minute or two, unfamiliar with the settings, before clicking in his number and name. LUCE GRIMOIRE, the text screams, and he just as easily slips it back into his Soulmate's hand. "There," he drawls, and that seems to be that.

Suddenly, the older male pinches the bridge of his nose, absently grasping at his rectangular, thin-rimmed reading glasses and sliding them on. "If I don't answer a text, just call me, yeah?" Lucius wets his lips, laving the pink muscles over the chapped skin, and the pang of pure want that ricochets through him is hastily pushed down.

"I could walk you to the counselor's office whenever you like, so don't be afraid to tell me. I don't bite."

"Much," he adds in a low voice, eyes glinting with amusement and heat. "I don't bite much, is what I mean."

Flushing again - and mentally scolding himself for doing that so easily - Adrian gave a shy smile as he took the phone back. Checking to see that the name and number were safely inputed, he slipped the phone into his pocket, picking up his laptop from where Lucian must have set it down, and held it close to himself.

"Right now would be a fine time," he replied, averting his gaze from where he had been eyeing the other man's lips, suddenly feeling overwhelmingly like the teenager he was. It wasn't that pleasant, to be honest. But the sudden need or want that crashed through him was definitely making up for any unpleasant feelings.

Letting out an involuntary squeak, he dropped his gaze again, fixing it on the silver-eyed man's throat instead and clearing his mind. Or attempting to anyways.

"Right now would be very good," he reiterated.

Cute, Lucius' mind croons. "Great," he says instead, a flash of dark amusement fluttering through him. He's shy. Self-conscious.

The Grimoire slides his hand under Adrian's laptop, hefting it up with little effort before offering it to the younger man. "Seems important to you," the art teacher replies, tone wry. Glancing down at Reading through his glasses, Lucius feels his mouth twist into the smallest of smiles; slim digits circling the door handle. The older man twists it open, stepping back into the hall after what seems hours - but he's sure this has all transpired within the past thirty minutes - and glancing behind him. "We'll have to be quick," Lucius apologizes.

"The counselor has a few other meetings today and I want you to be there before any of them start." At this, the art teacher begins a brisk walk down the hallway, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jeans.

Interesting, mused Adrian, following the older man easily and keeping up, casting a displeased glance at the familiar lockers and class doors. He couldn't help but be glad at the fact that he'd managed to skip grades. He would have definitely hated being stuck here for for another year or so.

"Thank you for accompanying me. It probably would have taken me an awfully long time without your assistance," said the dark haired boy slowly, frowning a bit as they walked past his old locker. The words that had cruelly been scratched into it with keys were still there, though mostly faded. He had to wonder if anyone was using the locker with the words 'fag' scrawled across it.

I highly doubt it. Why would anyone in their right mind give that locker to any student? he questioned dryly.

      Lucius Grimoire.

His gaze follows Adrian's, features carefully neutral. Bad memories then, he concludes before huffing out a quiet laugh. Then again, who doesn't have bad memories from high school? Bloody hell, even I had a bad high school experience.

His feet ghost across the cool marble floor, the soft sound of his shoes hitting the stone material almost muted; mindlessly making the final left turn to the counselor's office.

Lucius wets his lips, the Grimoire Insignia making a brief appearance; black ink and all. "Ms. Blackwood," he says crisply. "I have an Adrian Reading with me. He needs to see you." A muffled curse explodes from behind the wooden door, the sounds of rustling paper and a moving chair slithering from underneath the door's crack.

"Lucius!" The woman chirps breathlessly, the groaning door propped open. Her face is flushed and her eyes are wide, her gaze riveted to the handsome (despite his scars) man.

"Yes," he drawls, shoulders stiffening. "My name is indeed Lucius, Ms. Blackwood - but I'm not the one here to see you." Here, the older man jerks his head towards Adrian and for a moment, the counselor gapes, embarrassed, before she quickly ushers him in - but not before blurting out a question that makes Lucius' face close off.

"Would you like to go get coffee after this?"

Lip curled, Lucius lowers his eyes to the woman, liquid-silver eyes hard and cold. "I'm afraid I can't," he says coolly, voice sharp. His Mark is hidden discreetly, the bold letters concealed in his pocket. "I have a Soulmate already, Ms. Blackwood."

Her face falls and after giving Adrian a brief, warm smile that changes his face, the older man turns on his heel, ambling back down the hall. "I'll be in the art-room, Adrian," he calls back, tossing the comment over his shoulder. "You can drop on by if you still want to talk."

Adrian did not really know what to make of the woman. One thing, however, was clear. The primal surge of jealousy followed by the urge to growl and shout at the woman were related to the Mark. And it was a Soulmate thing, definitely.

Adjusting his laptop as he was ushered inside, the dark haired boy took the moment to quickly scan the place, eyeing the teetering piles of paper and the bursting cabinet with color codes warily. Honestly, he was surprised that anyone was even able to find things here. Let alone a woman who seemed to spend more time worrying about why she couldn't go out with someone who already had a Soulmate.

Adrian loked outside as his name was called, watching as Lucius rejected her offer, flashed him a warm smile before he was leaving. As soon as the older man was out of sight, Ms Blackwood, as he had called the lady, was turning towards him, managing a small smile around the pout that was threatening.

"Oh, sit down, please," she said, voice flustered as she took a seat. After a brief hesitation, Adrian moved some papers away from one of the seat and cautiously perched on it, setting his laptop on his lap. "Its lovely to see you here again, Adrian."

"It is mildly unpleasant to be here again," replied the boy dismissively, making the woman gape shortly before she snapped her mouth shut and forced a smile on her face.

"Well, here are all the results you needed. I do hope you'll drop by sometime again."

This time, he seemed to remember his manners as he gave the woman a small smile of his own and took the documents she offered, flipping through the pages before smiling. "Thank you, Ms Blackwood."

"No problem, Adrian," she said, smiling as the boy stood up and took his leave, sweeping out of the room.

As soon as he set foot on the marble outside the counsellor's office, the dark haired boy paused, looking down in the direction of the art room and debating with himself whether he should go there or not. After a few seconds of staring, he turned on his heel, loafers barely making noise on the stone as he walked towards the school entrance, one hand easily navigating his phone.

Letting out a small huff as he navigated the corridors, Adrian pushed his glasses up his nose. Of course he had to pass his locker again. He noted that the jocks were still hanging around it - students he had know when he was in the school - and were giggling and talking as they absently scratched at the words already written on it.

Ducking his head, he almost jumped out of his skin when his phone announced that he had a new message. Of course it was enough to send the students looking towards him. Adria. I am free whenever you would like to meet me again. Only not from about eleven in the morning to around four in the evening. I am working on the research for my paper at that time.

      Should I be there today?

Satisfied with the text, he shoved his phone back in his pocket, looking up and exiting through the main gates. He could hear the familiar cries of his name from the cheerleaders and jocks, but he let the door shut in their faces, briskly walking off. His Mark tingled lightly.

Well, it seems the mark is responsible for my sudden surge in confidence. Or maybe it could be the fact that I now have a Soulmate who ranks higher than them.

      Lucius Grimoire.

Lucius raised an eyebrow, a pleased feeling washing through his body. His Mark tingled and burned but the Art teacher paid it no attention.

      TO: Adrian Reading

      FROM: Me

Miss me already? I'm sure I can make some alone time for the two of us today.

      Luce.

Absently drumming his fingers along the edge of his desk, the man worried at his lip and glanced at the cup full of now tepid coffee. Grimacing, Lucius rose, snagging it on his way out.

He had an hour or two and he'd be outta here - and then tomorrow, classes. With kids.

Adrian chuckled as he read the next message, moving out of the school boundaries and onto the street, waving a hand as a taxi drove by. It didn't stop. Huffing, he glared at the next taxi, showing his hand as it slowed down.

"Infinity Technology Labs, please," he said, getting into the back of the smoky smelling cab and slamming the door behind himself. Sounds were mostly muted inside the vehicle, soft jazz coming from the radio the drive had turned on. The front window was open, wind whistling into the car and chilling it slightly.

Tapping away on his phone, the dark haired boy absently ran a finger along his Mark, jolting when a line of fire burned along it and made him shiver.

      TO: Luce Grimoire
      FROM: Me

Absolutely. Time alone would be much appreciated. I am not much of a social creature.

"Found your Soulmate recently?" asked the driver lightly, glancing back at the blue eyes that stared back at him. Adrian blinked.

      "How did you know?"

The other man chuckled fondly, one hand moving up to brush his own chest briefly - probably where his Mark was - and smile wistfully.

"Ah, I remember the time when I first found her. I was pretty much smiling for no reason too."

"But I have a reason. I am texting my Soulmate," responded Adrian looking confused as he held up his phone for the other man to see. "So I have a reason."

The brunet fixes a polite smile onto his chapped lips; offering a pleasant nod to the teachers sprawled out and grading in the lounge. Some of them shoot him a snarly glare over the cold mug of coffee they're nursing, as if it was all his fault they had to grade the copious amounts of paper littered on the floor.

Lucius stifles a sneer, hand coming up to scrub at the five o'clock shadow growing on his face. "Hey," he greets, gaze sweeping down the counter and locking onto the fresh pot of coffee.

The teacher who - for the life of him - he cant remember the name of turns around and stares at him with a pretty pursed mouth and lowered amber eyes. "Coffee will be ready in a minutes, Mr. Grimoire," he murmurs.

"Dibs on first cup," he says immediately - and already he can feel the nasty curses and angry stares burning holes into his back.

The other man makes this huffy little laugh that Lucius would have found adorable hours ago, lips quirking up when his phone gives off another light 'ping!'. Must be Adrian, he thinks, because obviously this man is a goddamn genius. Lucius flips it open, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth when he reads the response.

They say it's always the quiet ones you have to look out for. Any kinks I should be wary about?

      Luce.

The Art teacher worries his lip again and just to be his obnoxious old self, he sends another text right after the first.

      TO: Adrian Reading

      FROM: Me

Not that I would mind, honeybunch.

Blinking with wide-eyed surprise at the texts he had gotten, Adrian looked sufficiently puzzled on how one would respond to something like that. After a brief pause to think - in which the driver turned the music up a bit more - the dark haired boy stared out of the window.

Cars and other forms of transport were zooming around them, fumes from the exhausts lazily dancing into the sky. A few trees along the roads were waving gently in the light breeze that sprung up, a few birds fluttering into the sky. Jazz played in the background. Adrian puzzled out a response after the mystified silence, tapping quickly.

      TO: Luce Grimoire
      FROM: Me

Honeybunch? Why am I given that term of endearment? And I do not have any kinks that I would know of. Of course the fact that I am still very much a virgin would come into play here.

Adrian paused for a second before sending the text. He would find out sooner or later, so it is better that I took it upon myself to inform him before we actually got to any sexual interaction, he reasoned.

The reply he gets nearly makes him roll his eyes. This kid, he thinks dryly, brushing off the unabashed stare he's getting at the writhing Mark. The fact that Adrian's still a virgin should startle him - and it does, of course, but it nearly wrenches a purr of pleasure from his throat. He'd be the first - and it should be that way.

      TO: Adrian Reading

      FROM: Me

It was a joke, A. I'd never call you by such a ridiculous nickname and I'd never rush you. Your first time is somethin' special, isn't it?

      Luce.

"You're gay?" the other teacher blurts out and whatever weird fondess Lucius had for him, it's totally and utterly gone.

"Why do you think that?" It's a careful question. A good question."Your mark. It has a male name."

"Genius," Lucius snarls, getting up into the other's face. "You have a problem with that?" The disgusted look clearly says yes, yes I do but the Art teacher could care less, doesn't care at all. Growling out a farewell, he snatches up the coffee pot. No one stops him from stomping out of the teacher's lounge.

A flush crept up the dark haired boy's cheeks at the mere thought of having sexual interactions - regardless of them being the first time or not - with his Soulmate. He had heard that they were very important and mostly necessary to make sure that both participants have a strong bond. But, still. He also felt mildly amused because it was something straight from a romance novel. Staying a virgin until you find your Soulmate. Many people never met theirs!

Jumping when his phone alerted him of the new message, Adrian pulled it out, reading the newer message with a curious look and small smile because it seemed that he had gotten one of the more patient Soulmates. (The horror stories he had heard from the people he had talked to while researching had been enough to make him wish he never found his.)

      TO: Luce Grimoire
      FROM: Me

I am glad to note that you are not calling me Aids. It is not the most pleasant of nicknames. And I would not know anything about first times being special. Everyone I met seemed to have already either experienced sexual completion before having met their soulmate or had sexual intercourse with others. Seeing as how I am not versed in either, I wouldn't know what would be special.

All the romance novels do seem to think it special though.

And yes, maybe he was feeling a bit embarrassed at revealing that he had neither achieved sexual completion or engaged in any sexual activities. (He was too smart for it. He didn't really deem it important. It definitely took iron will through his puberty years.)

I grimace at the very thought, but lately I have been falling behind as I dreamed of what my soulmate was like. My Mark hadn't shown me their name, but I was happy. Why? Because I knew my other half was somewhere in this town. My Mark on my back shoulder burned, telling me it was starting to spell out the name of my soulmate.

Scarlett walked around the school, her class schedule in hand. She was new here and didn't know anyone or where any of her classes were. First she had to find her locker. Locker number 250. Scarlett walked up and down hallways looking for her locker. She knew the first few days would be hard on her, but not this hard.

Outfit: Scarlett was wearing a white dress that went down to her knees, maybe a little above. Around her waist was a black buckle and around her neck, a heart shaped necklace. Completing the outfit off with a pair of black flats.

Scarlett finally found her locker. She only had three minutes left to get to her first period. Scarlett quickly put the things she didn't need into her locker and shut the door. Right when she shut the locker door she felt a pain on the side of her left hip. Groaning, Scarlett looked down at her schedule and saw where her first period was, knowing she close by Scarlett quickly left for class having two minutes left to spare.

Scarlett walked/limped into the classroom with a minute to spare. Taking a seat she got out a pencil, pen, and notebook paper. She would ask to use the restroom later, even though her mark was really bothering her. Scarlett looked up, while doing so she noticed that the teacher was kind of staring at her.

"Thank you" Scarlett said, standing up and walking out of the classroom. Scarlett walked into the bathroom and into a stall, closing and locking the door behind her. Lifting up the side of her dress with the mark she looked down. Scarlett noticed a full name. Knowing she would finally know who her soulmate was she looked down. What she saw surprised her. The name read 'James Anderson.' Once Scarlett read it she pulled down her dress and walked out of the bathroom in shock. Walking into the classroom she mumbled another 'Thank you' to Mr. Anderson and sat down without making eye contact.
