  Ideas For Outreach and Discipleship

  I would love to get some imput on new avenues of outreach and ideas for
  discipleship. Also....do you limit who you include in discipleship to faithful people. I have had some groups where some were excited about starting but would get sidetracked by the urgent.

  I recommend the book _Transforming Discipleship_ by Greg Ogden.

  It seems to me that discipleship, by definition, refers to faithful, committed people. An "unfaithful dsiciple" is somewhat of an oxymoron. Obviously, one is not a perfect disciple from the get-go, but a certain level of seriousness and commitment must be assumed if one is to make progress in becoming a better disciple. Otherwise, "disciple" simply becomes a synonym for a nominal Christian.

  We look inside our own heart to see what God has planted in our heart personally. Nothing else will satisfy. I am called to reach out to the poor, and give them Jesus. After all He is free to us. He paid for our salvation with his own blood. I want to tell that to people who don't go to church because they think the church wants their money. Mostly I tell children.
