Christian Disciple-Making

Evangelism is a way of seeing the world through God's eyes. Arguably, the supreme business of the church is to carry out Christ’s great commission to preach the gospel and make disciples of every nation (see Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 9:37-38; 1 Timothy 2:4). Many great books have been written on the subject.

    What are you thankful for?

I’m kind of considered the gourmet cook in our family. What can I say; I really enjoy cooking (my kids were eating epicurean delights from the time they were wee babies). So when it comes time for family holidays I like to show off a little. No simple dishes for me; the harder the recipe is the better I like it.

Several years ago we had 25 people over to our home for Thanksgiving dinner. I felt good about my preparation; it was Thanksgiving morning and I had already made two fancy desserts, stuffing, a mashed potato casserole, green bean casserole, a mixed green salad with cranberry vinaigrette, homemade bread, a wild rice side dish, sweet potatoes and cranberry relish. I only had a few more things to make.

It was time to put my Turkey with Chardonnay and Herbs into the new roaster I had purchased just for this occasion. Minor point ... the turkey was too big for the roaster. Not a little too big ... it was obese. And I couldn’t use the oven because it was needed to bake all of the other goodies I mentioned above. I was starting to freak out when my husband came to the rescue once again. He rigged up some kind of MacGyver contraption and saved Thanksgiving. Next time I’ll show some restraint and buy a smaller turkey.

As I get ready to make the feast once again, I'm am reminded of what Thanksgiving is really all about. It's not about the turkey or the pumpkin pie, it's about gratitude.

I have so many things to be thankful for...if God physically showed up at your dinner table this Thursday, what would you say "thank you" for?

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I can't believe that no one else answered this question. I'm thankful for my husband of 25 years, we were married at 18 and 19 and we've been through so much together, but we are so very thankful for each other. I'm thankful for my Christian heritage, this is something that I took for granted most of my life. I'm thankful for good memories of my parents and other family members, friends. I'm thankful to be in good health. I'm thankful that my son is home with his family. I'm thankful that God has given my dad 85 years and that he is still able to be a blessing to us. I'm thankful that I took care of my parents and am still doing this, it has been a real blessing to me also. I'm thankful for my grandchildren they are a joy to us. I'm thankful for so many things from the insignificant to the more important. Great question!

I'm late in replying to this but, I'm thankful for my health. I'm thankful that I have a house and food on the table. I'm thankful for the parents I had. I am thankful for my fiancee and her family that is quickly welcoming me as part of their family. Most of all, I'm thankful for the gift of salvation that was offered to me at the cross. My relationship with Jesus has been what's kept me going through good times and bad.

    Happy New Year!

My ministry on line i started my ministry last March 2007, Its really an honor for me to do the work GOD has entrusted me with. Having these ministry is so much a blessing for me because He gave me godly friends on line and I have a chance to minister through prayers and tell what GOD has done for my life and the Blessings He gave me.

Obedience to GOD is what matters to HIM,so if GOD call us to do HIS work we should be willing enough and tell GOD, "Here I am Lord, us me". And GOD would truly bless the works of our hands.

    Shalom everyone!

I'm MOST thankful to God sending his Son to die on the cross for me. I'm thankful that I have been chosen and predestined by God to be a part of His kingdom. I am thankful for my wife and kids that He has blessed me with. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful that I am able to freely worship at any church without no fear of being arrested, persecuted, or killed. And, I am thankful for all the brave men and women who have served our country and died for those very freedoms.
