    Favorite theologian (dead)?

Have you read many (or any) dead theologians? If so, who is your favorite? If not, why not?

My favorites are: Augustine (especially his Confessions) and John Owen (his biblical spiritually I find very edifying).

Owen's Overcoming Sin and Temptation is on my list to read very soon. I've been reading Edwards and Wesley a lot, and find them challenging and encouraging respectively.
