Oftentimes children have the most incredible imaginations.... They come up with the craziest ideas, the creation and fear of monsters hiding in their closets, under their beds -- dreadful monsters with multiple, blood-tinted eyes and jagged fangs, broken from their previous meals, monsters with sharp, curved claws that are perfect for grabbing kids, stuffing them into their horrendously enormous maws, and swallowing them whole. The mention of mythical creatures like fairies, elves, and ghosts, as well vampires, shadow people, werewolves, kemonomimi, mermaids, animal and element spirits, and shape-shifters by adults or teenagers only fed those wild imaginations, but oh, no, no, no – those imaginations are simply that. When those children grow old enough, those crazy ideas vanish. There are no such things as monsters, nor fairies and elves.
But, perhaps
that is the lie...perhaps there is some truth in the imagination of a little child. In this world, anyway, there is.
Across thrice-nine lands is a peculiar place made of up several thrice-tenths kingdoms ruled by six royal elemental houses. Each kingdom controls a part of the magical land of Adwelirin:
In the
Kingdom of Kaeirwen resides House of Light, controlled by the Elvish Aorellan Family, a group of peaceful though vain and solitary creatures. For centuries, the Aorellan Family has kept themselves and their own species, cutting themselves off from Adwelirin and refusing to interact with the other Houses for fear of conflict and integration of their species with another. Most see the family and their people as conceited, aloof, and selfish, just as they are, which means that with their wealth and vulnerability comes many enemies in the other kingdoms (particularly Cherubim and Firerid).
In the
Kingdom of Cherubim sits the evil and ever-turbulent House of the Darkness, ruled by a family Demons who call themselves the Sevareviel Family. These creatures have always been in conflict with the other Houses, not simply the House of Light, which one would expect to be the Sevareviel Family’s adversary. The kingdom’s past is very dark and bloody, and now it is a very powerful kingdom whose rulers wish to one day take all the land for itself. With its witches and powerful wizards, weapon forgers, and horrible monsters, they certainly have a chance at it. Every kingdom is wary of Cherubim, and expecting Nydardoldan, ready to jump into battle against them should the need be necessary.
The
Kingdom of Therakin, a small and not-particularly rich or powerful kingdom, is ruled by the House of the Earth, a family of Fey (as were originally known to be tall, radiant, delicately-winged angelic fairy beings) known as the Dialle Family. These are the true angels of the Land; they, with their people – a wide mix of other fey, dryads, kemonomimi, animal spirits, and others – keep a close watch on the land, and are very vigilant, especially towards the dark Kingdom of Cherubim. There is no need to fear this kingdom, and thus the only enemy they have was aforementioned.
In the
Kingdom of Nydardoldan resides House of Water, controlled by the Mer Gaewen Family, stern, serious, and dangerous creatures. The Gaewen Family has been, much like the Aorellan Family, solitary, proud, and not very quick to run into battle, the safest, as well as the richest in means of land-area, compared to all the kingdoms. They have no enemies, fear no one, and likely never will have or experience either.
The
Kingdom of Firerid, the richest of all the kingdoms, is ruled by the House of Fire and a family of Dragon beings known as the Lothilird Family. Greedy, vicious, and willing to start a war, Firerid is easily the most turbulent and unstable of the kingdoms. Often the King stirs anger and turbulence with the other leaders, though none are willing to threaten them due to their vast wealth and thus wealth of warriors, resources, weapons, and funds. Every Kingdom excepting Nydardoldan has found a reason to dislike the Lothilird Family and their kingdom.
The last Kingdom, the
Kingdom of Kerasa where the House of Wind resides, is ruled by a family of graceful, chatty, sociable winged genies (humans with bird wings rather than angel wings) called the Zirawyn Family. Though artsy and musical, they aren’t to be mistaken for flighty birdbrains; they’ve an army of their own, intend on protecting themselves, and will become serious when necessary. Although no one wants to admit that they are wary of Kerasa, most of the Kingdoms are.
With so many kingdoms all crammed into one land, surely there will be turbulence and fighting.... Will the House of Darkness prevail in its wish to take over the Land of Adwelirin? Will the House of Fire stir the already-boiling pot too much and cause it to overflow? Will the House of Light, vain pacifists, be the tipping point? I suppose you’ll have to find out.
