- The Words Of A Friend
Personality- Head to toe, Terri is a physically attractive girl, but it isn’t her features themselves that charm the people she meets. She has a bright, mischievous smile that stands out on her face, the kind of smile that would make you wonder what she’s thinking about. Also, she tends to give off a sort of troublemaker aura. Odd to describe, I know, but just the way she holds herself and the way she moves tells it all. It wasn’t just her looks that earned her and her sister the name ‘the vixen twins.’ Although, you have to admit she does resemble the conniving creature in a few ways. You know, freckles and a pointed nose kind of make the picture stick. Now, I advise you to not get sidetracked while talking to her, possibly wondering about her fox-like qualities like me, because one slip up and she’ll rob you blind. True enough, if she likes you she might return your belongings after a thorough looking over. Maybe... And don’t you doubt, that looking over will be very thorough. Terri’s keen green eyes are trained to notice, and to leave nothing out. I mean honestly, hard detailed work in a power plant for nearly six years, and the rest spent living a tough street life—Without those eyes she’d be lying dead in a gutter somewhere. A very dirty one. With rats. See my point? No? Neither do I, so let’s skip that and move on to another somewhat-related topic! Terri is pretty sociable, I guess, in an excited and slightly over-enthusiastic way. No matter, she is quite friendly too and not even the tiniest bit shy! She is awkward at times, yes. Shy? Nope! Terri is just one idiosyncrasy after another! (And yes, that is a word. AND I just used it properly in a sentence. BOO-YA)
Strengths- Survival skills, stealth, and agility are some of her strengths.
Weaknesses- Large opponents and heavy things, she is easily outnumbered and overwhelmed if she can't escape quickly enough. Usually overthinks things.
Family- Deceased twin sister Tanya, from the 24th Games. Parents are long, long gone.
Biography- (In character) We were born into an dysfunctional, broken family. Torn from our birth parents to be put to labor at an early age, there was little to our childhood. Little except hard work, fragmented memories and a minimal pay. The power plantations were a child's nightmare, but unfortunately that's where most of us end up, one way or another. Though no one else knows it, five is the cruelest district. No, not strict, but cruel.
It all started with our mayor, many years ago before the hunger games had even been employed as a method of control. Mayor Roald Deeming was a chief of the district rebellion, a man of strength and pride. District five boomed, and for a while we held the power, literally. Until the Red Days came... The Capitol had seen our threat. And they pounced. Peacekeeper after peacekeeper flooded our doors, our homes. Lives were fought for, most were lost. My ancestor, Mayor Roald Deeming, was executed publicly seven days later after the fighting ended. Some bodies still sat cold in the streets, our district lying red with blood. That's why we call them the Red Days.
And so we became the most 'efficient' of them all, our people punished and our children put to work in labour plantations. But you know, it wasn't all fun and games. We were kept on a tight leash too, and in the neglect of our overworked population most of five has gone to slums. Yes, tattered ruins where small children loose lives... Well, that's my home. My sister and I eventually escaped the plant, running into the darkness of the city ruins. Living off the streets, foraging for food and picking pockets if we were ever low on anything. A pretty low life to live if you ask me.
It was two weeks after we ran that we discovered it. The secret society, the black market of district five. In a district so large, with so many residents, people like us tended to slip through the cracks and be forgotten. Only, not entirely... But my crusades will have to wait, another tale for another time, eh? Here we go, now, Tanya and I (That's my twin, duh) were adopted into the society of criminals and taught the arts of street living. It was how we survived bitter winters and disease-ridden summers in a cruel district like five.
Goldeneyes, the general leader of this extensive criminal ring, was like a surrogate father to us. He even even watched one horrid reaping day... When... When Tanya's name... Was picked. Yes, Tanya. The girl I'd never lived without, the girl in all her cunning and wicked wit still died at the hands of her own mind. Nightlock. Just like that, and she was gone... Forever. My other half, my only family... Two years have passed since then, two years of crying and sorrow. But there's no time for that anymore. Because I am not the same person I once was. I've changed.
Weapon of choice- Terri is extremely good at hand-to-hand combat, though is always at a weight disadvantage. But rest assured that she will make up for it by fighting street, and very underhanded. Yup, when you grow up in a rough place you learn how to handle rough people. Hey, it's either that or die. Painfully.
Other- Allies anyone?
