Shadows Return came in the mail today from Amazon!

Awesome, terrific fantasy from Lynn Flewelling! I can't believe we have to wait a whole YEAR for the sequel, The White Road. Those who have read and enjoyed Flewelling's Tamir Triad and previous three Nightrunner books will not want to miss this one! Plot summary as follows:

Alec i Amasa and Seregil i Korit have returned to Skala after completing their diplomatic errand to Aurenen. However, life is not the same. Most of their old friends are dead, or getting old, and the Watchers have fallen out of favor with royalty. When Queen Phoria reluctantly asks Alec and Seregil to do her favor, they comply, only to find themselves and their escort attacked along the way. Why? A necromancer finds Alec to be extraordinarily interesting, and old deeds from Seregil's past have come back to haunt him. Can they escape their separate imprisonments together and escape?

Do you happen to know if this is meant to be a new trilogy? I got so vexed by the delay between the 2nd and 3rd books of the Tamir Triad that, although I own all three, I have yet to get around to reading the entire thing.

As much as I love Alec and Seregil and was delighted to hear she was writing another book in that series, I really don't want to be left hanging the same way with yet another cliffhanger...

I would assume it's going to be the start of a new trilogy, since she's already announced the title of the sequel :)

Isn't that just killer, how some authors make us wait FOREVER for their next work? (Case in point, P C Hodgell)

Hopefully this will go faster than the time between Traitor's Moon and Shadows Return. I think it will since she wrote the Tamir trilogy in between the two and I think she's only working on the Nightrunner books now.

I also received Shadows Return in the mail the Tuesday it came out. I had it finished by 1:00 a.m. It made me a little tired going into work that day, but it was totally worth it :-)

My copy is coming, soon! 'Can't wait.

There are a lot of books out there, so I don't really worry TOO much about waits between books... It's just one of those things in life, you know? ^__^

If I'm really excited about reading a new book I tend to fear death more. I'm serious, I always get paranoid I'm going to die before I have a chance to read the book. I think I'm just a tad weird....

      Heheheh.

I worry more about the author dying before finishing the next book, frankly!!! ('cause it's happened...)
