    Crucible

My class in 8th grade is reading/acting out "The Crucible". It's a good book and a lot of my class mates are good at acting in like, Emily, Blake, and Leon. Have any of your ever done any thing like this?

nope, but I was a kid in a cage in first grade when we performed Hansel and Gretal...imagine sitting in a cage for the entire play not speaking....until the end...the entire play....every time they did it...in practice...ACTING! I tell you. I was the best nonmoving actor EVER!

BTW Death of a Salesman sucks, don't read it.

    I suggest perhaps Ibsen or Shakespeare...Tennessee Williams...Goethe....Chirstopher Marlowe...Oscar Wilde...Bernard Shaw... Aeschylus...Aristophanes...

All I remember about acting in first grade was watching the dude playing Santa Claus on opening night come through the cardboard chimney and knock the whole thing over. Genius.

I'm glad I looked at this thread just because of this.

we actually had quite good school plays in my year - I never once had to do a nativity play - I was variously a slave girl, a bunny, one of nine pipers piping, and the compere for an old style music hall production...

I remember reading that in High School for class, but that's about it. I do recall having to act out Romeo & Juliet though haha.

We had to memorize and act out passages from "McBeth" when I was in high school. We had a pretty cool English teacher, so the more we got into it, the better our grade was. It was supposed to help us remember key scenes for our major exam at the end of the year, and it worked!
