    You against Northern Californians here?

Hey, I recently moved to San Francisco and really want to explore the Pac NW. I am a pilot, and keep a small plane, aka The Emerald Rocket, just outside of town and was thinking of some spring adventures up your way. But you group seems to want to keep CA folks out. Now I am ALL FOR barring anyone from anyplace near SOUTHERN CA, but come on! -Shawn (a NICE New Yorker, sans accent, now eager to discover places unknown)

Not at all! I was born in norther California (granted, extremely northern California as in Yreka--practically Oregon). I just didn't list CA as part of the PNW because, well, it isn't. But you don't have to live in the PNW to enjoy books about it. :-)

Although most native Washingtonians are against Californians. It's just our upbringing.
    Nothing personal:-)

Yeah, I think the reason so many people in the Pac. NW are 'against' Californians is because so many move up here and build mansions and drive the housing market up. But I really don't care and my husbands family is origanally (sp?) from southern Cal. And I'm from Sturgis, SD. Anyway. The NW is a beautiful place and even though I've lived here over 6 years now I still go crazy taking pictures in the spring and summer. Its so beautiful with all the mountains, waterfalls, and all the trees! (Can you tell I'm from SD?)

      Hey Candace,
Greetings from another South Dakota native who ended up in the NW. It is beautiful out here. I especially don't miss the extreme heat, cold, and wind. I'm from Madison.
      Take care!

Watch it, dude, I'm originally from Orange County! :-) Actually, before that, I lived in Bergen County, NJ, but that doesn't count!

I've lived in Seattle for the last 10 years and I never met anyone who was anti-CA...maybe I just know too many transplants!

Folks here in Montana are pretty anti_CA after a few years of taxes being driven up and gated communities popping up in an area of NO CRIME].....ah, but I, too am originally from Bergen County, NJ....so I'm happy as a clam on my mountain.

My own father moved to the Puget Sound area from Southern California, but that was back in 1945. I agree with Pampe that the locals are most upset with the gated communities and rising property values.
