A friend of mine works in the continuing education area of a hospital. I've suggested that she get to know the medical librarian there. When my friend has to plan seminars, demonstrations, programs, etc., I would think the medical librarian would be invaluable (and my friend has asked the librarian to serve on some key committees.)
What if you were to target the continuing education team in your facility? Also, look at what committees you might be able to serve on - there are probably several who would like a fresh face (along with great ideas!) in the group.
