Christian Fiction

Who are your favorite authors?

Favorite types of fiction?

What authors have a Biblically based moral theme even if it is not specifically a Christian book? I'm thinking of Tolkien, Lewis, Chesterton.

Let's talk, explore, compare and share.

Have you read any of Jamie Langston Turner's books?

Have you read The Last Sin Eater by Rivers?

    Vanessa,
Here are some more suggestions for you. I read almost anything except blood and gore--don't like cruelty in my leisure reading--find too much of it in the world today. I hope I have listed something that you might enjoy.

Deborah Bedford: When You Believe, A Morning Like This, A Rose by the Door

Beth Patillo: Heavens to Betsy; Earth to Betsy; Sweet Gum Knit Society

Linda Hall: Margaret's Peace; Kathryn's Secret

I have just finished reading two books by contemporary authors that I liked, both by Kate Morton: The Forgotten Garden (for my book club) and House on Riverton.
My book club also unanimously liked Sarah's Key and The Help.

Have you read any T. Davis Bunn books? I have liked whatever I have read by him. Oh, and Lori Wick!!

Yes! Lori Wick is really good! And if you pick up anything you haven't read by Janette Oke, I guarantee you'll like it! Also books by Frank Peretti.

I really liked the Guardian King series by Karen Hancock, the first book is Light of Eidon. It is a fantasy novel, be prepared to feel challenged.

If you like paranormal stuff, I am reading the Jerusalem Undead Trilogy by Eric Wilson. It is pretty dark but again, very challenging.

Vanessa, I agree with some of the authors listed and I'd add one more by suggesting my website http://www.allonbooks.com

I wrote a good, old-fashion clean YA fantasy series because my daughter asked me to do so when she was in high school and for the same reasons you listed.
If you like LOTR and The Hobbit, take a look.

Thank you so much Shawn Lamb, and you won't believe it, but I just added the Allon books to my shelf! I added them before I even read your suggestion, I just found them myself! It's weird how everything ties together, isn't it? But I'm definitly going to read them. They sound so awesome, and I can't wait!! THANK YOU!!!

Here are some that I read recently and really liked - Always the Baker, Never the Bride, They Almost Always Come Home, The Pastor's Wife, Dead Reckoning and Highland Blessings. Right now I am reading When the Devil Whistles.

What about books by Deeanne Gist? Their great reads, quick reads though, and are set in historical settings.
