Hi Dolitha –
I recommend starting with a primer on marketing, such as Kotler on Marketing or The Marketer’s Toolkit (from the Harvard Business Essential’s Series).
I’d then skip the traditional marketing strategy books and move directly to online marketing. Maybe read something about search engine optimization (even though that field has gotten extremely sophisticated). Good books in that field are Get to the Top on Google, or Winning Results with Google AdWords. You might also want to check out The New Rules of Marketing & PR. (Whether or not online marketing is suitable for you depends on the type of business you have, of course.)
And one more recommendation, even though that one is probably not immediately applicable for you – a marketing book for the nightstand: Brand Hijack. It’s a very entertaining book on how consumers take over marketing from professionals.
Hope this helps.

P.S.: I am an editor for getAbstract. We have summarized hundreds of marketing books and post reviews of them on our Web site – that might also help you find the books you need.
