  How can I link an old account with a new one?

  You can't.

  You can only link an Amazon account with a Shelfari account. Can't link two Shelfari accounts.

  What you might be able to do is export the shelf from one account and use the resulting EXCEL file to upload that info to the other account. You will lose all notes, tags, etc for those books. You will retain title/author/edition-specific info though.
