  Book Status Error

  New Title

  

  I'm having problems with books that I have listed as either "to be read" or "reading now" being transferred to "books I've read" once I've finished reading them and rating them. Has something changed within the last month or two? This feature worked when I first stared using shelfari. I've tried to drag entries over to the correct category but that didn't work either. Thanks in advance for your help!

  Can you be a little more specific?

  Here's how it SHOULD work
  Click the green EDIT button for the particular book. Click the I've Read This button. ALSO click the button for the shelf where you had it (reading now, or to be read) to remove it from that shelf.
  Rate, review, etc,
  Be sure to go to the LAST tab (which is for tags) and click the DONE button at the bottom to save all your changes.

  Is this what you've done and it's not working? Or is the issue something else.

  Mine has not been working either. No matter how many books I report read, my total stays at 14 for the year. Today I read Book Concierge comment above and I (thought I) realized oh, I have to UNCHECK "reading now" and THEN check "I Have Read". So I did that to about six, and now my total remains at ... 14, the same. And yes, of course I run through all the next dialog boxes until I get to "Done". It simply does not work.

    Two different things????

    1) Books show on two different status "shelves": All three status indicators are independent - they don't toggle. It is possible and appropriate that, simultaneously, a books can be in all three states, in fact. The member must deliberately uncheck a status as well as deliberately check a status indicator.

    2) Books don't get included in the "have read" stats: The reading stats require that the member input the date the read was completed. Otherwise, the book will go into that catch-all bucket of "not sure." They won't appear for the stats based on dates-read.

    Does this help at all?
