Two Suggestions
I really like Shelfari, but I only really use it for cataloging the books I've read, am reading and plan to read. I'd really love it if Shelfari had two additional features:
1- More community features - I'm thinking of a feature that would automatically find people with similar lists of books as you. Most of my friends aren't big readers, and I think it would be fun to communicate with people who have similar literary tastes.
2 - Something more in the way of suggestions for new books to read. One of my problems is finding new books to read that I would actually enjoy, and I usually have to spend a few hours either wandering through Barnes and Noble or clicking around, looking for "books similar to this one" on Amazon.com, and both of these methods yield little to no results most times. I've tried both Amazon.com's and whatshouldireadnext.com's book reccomendation services based on books I've read, and they both disappointed me with the obvious choices of other books by the same authors that I read (it's obviously occurred to me to look up authors I like anyway) and some ridiculous suggestions of terrible-looking books that are just of the same genre of something I've read. I'm thinking that Shelfari could make a better reccomendation service, especially since the site seems designed to hold a catalog of all the books (with ratings!) an individual has read.
