    Very funny that you mentioned Running with Scissors. I have read it, but couldn't recall the title when I was adding Naked. I did like Trans-Sister Radio. I read it on the heels of Middlesex, another great book.

    Kelly gave me Perfume a few years ago. Writers tend to neglect scent, so that is definitely an interesting aspect of the book. It's dark and twisted. The protagonist is a monster, so you're somewhat rooting for him as the hero, but you're repelled by him at the same time.

    Perfume is really freaky. I think a movie has been made of it recently too. I loved it -- it's very nose focused ... scents and stuff. Just don't follow it up with Tom Robbins' Jitterbug Perfume, it's a little bit of an overkill.
