What can I say... I love to read. I own a ton of books and I am slowly trying to read
them all... but of course as I go along something new and interesting comes out or
I get a great recommendation and more is added to my great list of "I Plan to Read"...
but that's ok, because it keeps things interesting and there is never an... more »

Dear Gosia: I am an author from Massachusetts. After years of rejection slips, I had my debut novel HUNTING THE KING published last year. The publication of a novel by a small independent press requires a lot of independent promotion, too. As part of that promotion I try reaching out to people who might have an interest in HUNTING, which is a page-turning thriller. The main character is Molly O’Dwyer. When Molly was five years old, she witnessed her mother die in a fire that Molly believes she set. After her mother’s death, she is raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Thirty years later, she is an archaeologist recruited to join an expedition into war torn Iraq. What lies buried beneath the sands of ancient Babylon that would have an international team of scientists anxious to risk their lives? A passionate scientist herself, a seeker of truth, Molly can’t resist the call. Yet, still a loyal Catholic, she can’t help but fear the consequences of this momentous dig. ForeWord Magazine said, ‘Given such an auspicious debut, the sequel can’t come soon enough.’ If you have the time, check out the explosive YouTube book trailer for HUNTING THE KING. Please let me know if you have an interest. Thank you.

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

Thanks for the note. I think you wil like "Shadow of the Wind." It was one of those books that EVERY person in my book club liked. The disucssion went on and on and didn' stray...that's another way I know it was good. If it wasn't, we's start talking about our children or our students. Let me know when you read it and what you think of it. It's nice to have you on my friends list!

    Hi Gosia,
I got your note about the 'Butterfly' book by Kathryn Harvey. No I do not own it. I checked it out from the library a long time ago and loved it too. You can get it on amazon.com if you type in Kathryn Harvey under the books section. It is there for under $10 American money.

Wow, sorry to read about your missing a page of "Butterfly". I read that books YEARS ago, don't own a copy currently (I tend to give away books after I've read them, to "pass along" the fun) - what page is it, and in what addition? I can try and get hold of that page and copy it ...
