I have 2 degrees in English which pretty much makes me an expert, right. I love to read. I have always loved to read. It's a part of my soul this passion for literary escape. I teach composition and Children's Literature at the college level. Seeing all the kiddie books on my shelves should make sense now.

Howdy! I wanted to say thanks for the recommendation of the Mortal Instruments series. I just finished the first book and I really liked it, although I was a little disappointed. I was rooting for Jace/Clary which is SO wrong now. But I eagerly await reading the next book, City of Ashes. Plus, I saw that the there is a third book due out in 2009! =)

Hey G-E! How's it going? I haven't checked my notes in Shelfari for awhile...didn't know you had sent me one till now. I'm currently reading Nightkeepers. Have you read it--I couldn't tell from your note. Although I'm enjoying it, I've had a hard time getting past all the various names for things and trying to keep things straight in the world she's built. But I love the connection between Leah and Jaguar (I had to look up his name but not hers...see, the details just don't stick).

I got to meet Jessica Andersen at a convention I attended and she's a very interesting person to talk to. We talked horses and I told her I loved her website.

Yes, the trip was really nice. Kinda weird meeting people you only know from online. My 12 yr old daughter nearly had a heart attack when I told her my plans because I've drilled internet safety into her head. Hahahahaha!

Hope you're having a nice summer too. Getting geared back up for school yet?

I have added it, Sis, and will most likely read it in August after BD. Once I'm done with MB - shoot, I'll be done with that in a few days. I think I can start Outlander before I do my reread of twilight, NW and Eclipse so I can dig in fresh when BD comes out.

Hi Elizabeth! Long time no see!!!! Thanks for missing me!!!! I've not been posting on the Lex lately, but I've been lurking. Speaking of lurking, I was on the moms site. They have a book club where Stephenie recommends the book. They're reading Memoir by the same author of Elsewhere and the author actually posts and answers their questions. Kinda cool--check it out if you haven't already. I remember coming across this book at the bookstore several times (I love the cover), but I didn't buy it. Seeing her post over there, it still intrigued me, so I added it to my shelf. Hahaha...I had to put Queen Betsy on hold to read other stuff...The Host, Phury, Sookie, my other book club books... I hope to come back to her soon!!!

Hahaha..the baking...yeah, gotta love those parts! I'm excited to start Nightkeepers. It's written by JR's crit partner, edited by the same editor, and the cover is similar to BDB...so I'm expecting lots of delicious baking. I'll let you know....

    Hope you're doing well!

Heh. Ok. I've been reading Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series. It's new. There's an e-book that I bought that prefaces the whole thing but it was horrible. I took a chance on the first book The Darkest Night, and loved it. The second one is out (ahem) early. It's called The Darkest Kiss. I've got my local B&N holding it for me and I'm picking it up tomorrow. Wheeee! I'm digging Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, too. They're goofy, but fun. Definitely lighter fare, but still good. A lot of people HATE her stuff, to be warned. I dig it, though. IT'S GOOFY, DIRTY FUN. Don't expect anything profound. I also just read a novella collection that included one by Emma Holly, and DARN it if hers didn't mandate an immediate re-read. It's reeeeeally dirty, though. So...how's that for a start?? Now your turn. What've you got that I'm missing out on?

Oops! My bad, yes, City of Bones was the first. I just finished City of Ashes, the second one. I liked the second one better than the first.
