Thanks for that, some great tip offs there. I've added everything I can remember reading to my shelf here, but I'm sure I've missed loads. I rediscovered Centuries by A.A. Attanasio (a very hit and miss author) whilst adding stuff to this, he's one of my all time favourites. Centuries has the same amazing sprawl Hamilton's work has, great tech, believable future concepts etc. I've heard about the name of the wind, hmm... I haven't read much fantasy recently, despite my love for it - I'll give it a go! Last fantasy I read was the Scar by China Meiville, and that was brilliant :) I tend to read huge bricks so that if they are really good, they don't run out.
