Hi--I haven't check in with you flapper girl in a while --been extremely busy at work since they cut out 9 employees, got me pulling doubles and trying to train people to do more for less--now ain't that a new concept (ha-ha)--been trying to finish James Pattersons' Cross for the 2nd time since i didn't quite finish before-- Alex cross is the man as always, i can't seem to get enough of him---Happy Day
Well, Freedom at midnight is basically a postmortem of the the freedom of india, by the authors. They have taken a look at the socio political and ethnic situations that existed at the time and indeed were created by the event itself. As is widely known the partition of British ruled India into India and Pakistan gave rise to one of the biggest tragedies of human history, The Partition Holocaust. The book delves into the entire history of the event in an easy to read manner. There are a few other good books on this topic but i find this the easiest to read.
