I'm a web designer who works from home (www.artbytech.com), a mom to two wonderful special needs little girls (www.mom-blog.com), happily married, a writer (www.artremarkable.com) and I love love love to read.
My extensive collection of books is mostly in the bathroom, when else do moms have time to read? I love historical fiction, scifi/fantasy (but very fussy), chick lit, and most of Oprah's recommendations. Poets & Writers is a good source too. I like dramatic fiction and anything that resonates with my life, as long as it has some depth and weight.
I tend to read a lot of books with tragic endings - I'm always hoping they WON'T be, but usually they are. Writers figure more depth in tragedy, I guess.
I also read books on web development, writing, spirituality, and I'd LOVE to read about politics but so far haven't gotten that far.
I'm deeply spiritual (www.whatnextgod.com), a heretic left wing Christian, love most kinds of contemporary music except country (although Johnny Cash is the bomb), love techie stuff, liberal politics, I adore my family, and I have a great house but want a bigger one. Oh, and I'm dying to trade my crap PC for a Mac.
I write fiction and poetry (and nonfiction blogs of course), I'm working on a wonderful so-far-3-part fantasy novel, and I'm trying to get back to school this fall to finish my degree in literature and writing. I'm 40-something, my kids are in preschool, and my husband is just the best guy ever.
Read some of my blogs or look at my books to learn more. I haven't put any of the ones I hated up.
