Oh, I have a friend in DC who's running in the marine corps marathon as well! Good luck with that!

I'll probably read de Botton after I finish La Recherche (margarine's okay if you run out of butter...). I didn't know there was a movie though. Is it any good?

Have fun at Eurodisney. I have been there a couple times, but having been to Disney World in FL, it always seems small :-) I'm more of a blogger than a facebooker. Not a literary blog, though my dream would be to have a blog that combines food and books, like recipes that evoke books or that are evoked in books...

Well thank you. Are you planning to re-read Proust or do you think 2010 is a good year for a Proust movement in general? Or both, perhaps? David Lynch, huh? I guess I'll see when I get there. I'm strolling through A l'ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs - I say strolling because I've noticed you can't really read Proust quickly since you don't want to miss a word. And did you enjoy How Proust Can Change Your Life? When I get done with La Recherche, I definitely want to read that.

I'm a stage actress (as opposed to film), but otherwise pretty versatile. I love both comedy and drama. I do hang out at Shakespeare & Co. sometimes, especially when I've run out of English-language books :-)

Is that the White House in your photo? I don't remember that being in Scotland...

Oh I'm happy to join the reading Proust movement :-) I just read the first tome of La Recherche and I kept saying "oh, i'll read something light in between books" but it turns out I couldn't think of a single thing that would be better reading than more Proust! So I started the 2nd volume...

Aren't you just loving Proust? I tried to start a Proust book club in my small little Oregon town and the newspaper even profiled us because it's just that weird...

Sounds good--I'm probably not going to tackle anything too large for a couple of months after I finish Ulysses, but maybe I can join in media res ; )

How's the Woods' book on fiction?

I received a 6 vol. Proust set last X-mas--feel I should read them back-to-back, but I'm not sure I'm ready. What's your take on reading them all at once versus spreading them out with some fodder in between?
