I'm interested in the process and application of personal mastery, in all of its forms. I think this shows on my shelf, in both my selections of fiction and non-fiction works.

Public Notes

I enjoyed the note on Black Hawk Down and Don M's incisive comments, with highest respect for true warriors! The American public is now so spoonfed on milk toast, media pap, and the latest politically correct "spin" that it is really heartbreaking and a cause of great concern for the future of our country. I did not know about Falujah - and would want to honor those brave men and women!

I'm new here. How do I add friends? I invite you!

Thanks for your note on BlackHawk Down. I remember seeing an interview on TV with many of the Rangers from the battle--20-20 or something like that, I think it was just after Bowden published the book--and that was the closing measage they wanted the TV jounalist to give from them; for the American people not to lose heart, to support them in their mission. They understood that they would take casualties--they are warriors, for heaven's sake. But for the American politicians and public to pull them out at the first sign of loss made them feel like cowards, and made them feel as though their losses were for nothing.

When I think about this, I fear that Osama bin Ladin was right, that the American people have no stomach for a fight anymore.

I wonder if the story of Falujah will ever be told. The fighting done by the Marine Corps there is one of the extraordinary military battles of all time. Thousands of houses and buildings cleared, room by room. There should be many medals of honor from that battle, and yet we've heard nothing from the main stream media. They are determined that the only picture the American public will see of US fighting men is as victims, to be pitied, or torturers and rapists to be reviled.
