I liked crucial conversations but I too would suggest some more basic influencing and negotiating books first. how to win Friends and influence People, Getting to yes or any of my books (what kind of author would i be if i didn't believe in my books) particularly my newest book UP Influence Power and the U Perspective
I can highly recommend Crucial Conversations, but I'd suggest to start with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. That book has laid the groundwork for me.
