Hi Audra - I keep running into your wonderful reviews on books I love and don't think enough people read (Why aren't more people raving about Constellation of Vital Phenomena?!?) so I figured I should start following you to see what you're finding before me. It's kind of creepy when people just follow one out of nowhere so I wanted to say hi before I started stalking your shelves. ;-)
Since you mentioned Scandinavian crime fiction in your review of The Round House, I'm wondering if my very sketchy description of this book I read (possibly in the early 1990's?) strikes any titles with you. I believe it was a translation of a Scandinavian author. A group of men are gathering for a 25th (?) reunion of their boy's/men's academy/school. It's a who done-it mystery where each protagonist might have had a reason to murder the school master so long ago when they attended and everyone at the reunion is still wondering which of them is the perpetrator of the crime. I think the ending was left ambiguous. ?Ring any bells? It's been driving me crazy for years!
Hi Audra. Please join us at a new Shelfari.com group: Good Reads Café
This is a Readers’ and Writers’ group. Open discussions, debates, critiques and self-promotions…
The group is for all readers and for all good authors. All book genres are welcome. I write thrillers based on true events.
I see how much you enjoyed 'Before I go to Sleep' by S.J Watson. It's a great debut novel.
I’m searching for someone like you who appreciates the more original and interesting fiction that might be interested in trying out my novel trilogy "The DEAD LOOP". It is easy to read, emotive and a unique psychological thriller mystery about a man that dies every single day but has no idea why.
My first Shelfari reader wrote on Amazon US: ‘one of the most unique and original story plots that I have read in quite a long time... There is just something about the idea and the writing combined that from the very first few pages grabs you by the hand and tugs you along to see what comes next and fires your imagination to begin trying to figure out why it is happening.’
Part 1 is free on Kindle every 18 days or so, or $1.25 normally.
Or it’s free all the time if you have Kindle Prime!
If it intrigues you at all and want to check it out, I would very much appreciate any feedback.
I promise you that you won’t regret it!
Vegweb... is my (cruelty-free) crystal meth!
My spouse is overly theological for my tastes, too... but hey (shrug), you go with the flow, right?! They have other good qualities, so it's all right! My dad's a preacher, so... at least I had the relevant coping skills in place, lol! :-)
