  • Mated to the Devil

    Mated to the Devil

    by Eve Langlais
    • Rated 5 stars

I am a HUGE fan of Eve Langlais's books and I have to admit this is by far my FAVE book from Eve due to the emotional ride that Eve put me through in "Mated to the Devil". I'm used to her humor in books and was not prepared for an emotional one that made me realize how cruel the world is...even when it's paranormal.

One night at a frat party, Mina ends up not only raising concerns in her head that she should not be at the party due to her fear of her parents finding out, but her concerns with the guy who she cannot seem to get enough of seeing.
Remy never thought he would find his mate while during unlucky circumstances. Now he is determined to find out more about her and claim her.
That one night of passion will leave Mina wondering what Remy is and why now she is concerned about her son, Jacques and his glowing eyes. What was Remy...was he the devil?

Remy has been not himself since that one night of passion and his father has been trying everything to find out about the woman who claimed his son's heart.
When they do find her, they will find out Remy not only had one night of passion, but became a father to a very adorable child.

I could go on and on, but I do not want to spoil it. Eve gives you a book where two characters who are raised differently. Mina is from a very religious family and her parents will disown her if she does anything that is not in their religion.
Remy is the shapeshifter who is supposed to be laying low while in college, but becomes too lovestruck the minute he sees Mina.
How Eve wrote Mina and Remy together was perfect. Mina needed Remy for what her parents did to her and she needed someone to remind her the world was not there to judge her or make fun of her. Remy needed Mina because he needed someone to love and be loved back.
This has to be one of the best dark paranormal romance books I have read so far this year. Eve did a splendid job on everything about this book.
Although, the first half may be kind of too much to some readers, to me, it was not what some readers would think. Eve does a fabulous job of explaining Mina's reaction to what happened in detail and how she felt what happened between her and Remy.
She may have been a little scared because she thought he was the devil at first or son of the devil, but once she realized the truth, she definitely understood the world better.

Mina is a very strong heroine at the end, even when she was put through hell with her parents and what happened to her. She had such a strong little man to help her along the way too, Jacques...her adorable little boy, who you will find out about when you read this book. He stole my heart every time he was mentioned.

I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers and fans of Eve Langlais.
Be prepared for an emotional ride though because Eve will bring out the tears in this book. Have a box of tissues handy...I did warn you. =)

  • Caressed by a Crimson Moon
    • Rated 4 stars

"Caressed by a Crimson Moon" is the third installment to the Rulers of Darkness and it is about Hadrian Lucretius and Eve Maldonado.
Hadrian is the King of the Validus Clan, but he denounced his claim to the throne when he went mad after killing his twin brother, Titus. Now he is back to become ruler again and to do that, he has to control the demon inside that has plagued him since the dreadful night that he chose to take a life instead of save it.
His second in command, Falcon goes to Brazil to claim their ward from the Silveria Shifter Pack that they made in a treaty with them. Instead of getting a full-blown shifter, they choose to give them their half-breed who they have treated poorly since the day her father, the alpha, kidnapped her from her home. Eva Maldonado is glad to leave her father and his pack, but she's not sure what to think about her temporary home in a castle with a mad and crazed vampire.
The minute she comes in contact with him, he is all she can think of. For some reason she is drawn to him and vice versa.
Hadrian is trying everything to come his feelings for the half-breed, but she is unique and he is determined to find out why he wants her.
The truth of what she really is, makes him realize why the alpha wanted to keep her hidden and also why her mother never told her she was.
Now he has to make a choice to save her for what she is to become or watch her die a painful death.

Amanda J. Greene gives another gripping tell of two lovers who need each other to survive. Hadrian has been dealing with his inner demon for so long, he needed someone to tell him, he is so much more than a terrible person and to let go of his past. Eva needed someone to save her and realize the truth on what she is. Both characters were determined though to fight their urges...but Hadrian was more stubborn than Eva. In fact, I adored Eva more than I did Hadrian in the story.
Eva was a strong female character who spoke her mind and was determined to fight for what she wanted. Hadrian needed some guidance along the way. I'm glad though, he had his second in command, Falcon to help him on certain matters. He needed someone else to realize his potential of being a great rule of his kind.
I love how Amanda ties in the previous characters from the first two books and also gives you potential characters who deserve to have their own stories as well. I was really intrigued with Queen Sonya and Falcon from the previous book and how they have been fighting feelings for each other, but now I am more curious with Silvie and Gannon.
I love also how Amanda keeps the paranormal creatures for what they really should be like, dark, twisted, and evil at times...but they still have a very romantic and caring soul as well, especially when it comes to the person they love.
The ending was really quick especially when it came to Hadrian claiming his place back, but Amanda gives you a cliffhanger at the end and makes you want more.
I look forward to reading who gets their next story in the Rulers of Darkness.
I give this book 4.5 moons and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers out there.
You could read the first two as standalone, but I definitely recommend you read in order. You will love each of the characters and want to find out how they got their happily ever after also.

"Buried" is the third novel in the Bone Secrets Novels and it definitely put me through the ringer.

If you read "Hidden", you would recognize the name Michael Brody since he played a part in the first novel. We get to have way more of him in "Buried". In fact, Michael is trying to find answers on what happened to his brother twenty years ago when his school bus disappeared from their trip to the Capitol.
Now some of the children's remains have finally been recovered in a bunker and Michael's brother's remains were not there. He is more than determined now to find out what happened to the children and now even more his brother.
He is about to search down the only survivor from the bus disappearance and he has to find the survivor first.
Jamie Jacobs's brother, Chris was the only survivor. He happened to escape the killer and now is in hiding. He will not even tell his sister where he is. Michael is now at Jamie's door wanting to know where Chris is...but she has no idea herself and she wants answers now was well.
Now the killer has it out to find Chris as well, and he will do anything to find him. Even hurt Jamie in the long run.
Michael and Jamie will have to go on a search together to find her brother, but they may end up causing more chaos before they find him.
The killer has his own secret agenda and his boss wants him to cover his tracks that he forgot to do back twenty years ago.
Secrets will be unveiled from both sides and everyone will be thrown off kilter.

Kendra Elliot's writing style is purely amazing. She knows how to build up a story and to keep you on the edge of your seat. I swear I was there with the characters looking for Chris and also inside the killer's head trying to figure out why he did what he did and who was his boss. I wanted him found from the beginning and I definitely believe he got what he deserved. He definitely was one killer that made me want to go through the book and hurt him.
When the truths finally came out...I think I literally was in shock. Kendra threw me off so many times and the ending was definitely a shocker as well.
I felt so much sympathy for Michael, Jamie, and Chris.
Michael was one determined reporter who fell head over heels for Jamie and I am glad he finally got to have the love that he was looking for. He was so hung up on Lacey from "Hidden", he needed to find the right person for him. He found that right person in Jamie and Jamie needed Michael as well. She needed someone to tell her she was okay to not have plans.
Chris was the person who really stood out in this story. The poor guy went through so much and in the end, he still was going through a lot. He stole me the minute I was in his head and what he was going though and continued to go through.
The mystery to the story is what made me in tears and when it all came together, I was literally bawling. This had to be one of the saddest romantic suspense stories I have ever read in awhile. It did have a happy ending, but it took awhile to get there.
This is by far the best novel in the series so far and I look forward to the fourth book even more now. I want to know who is the next characters to go through a mystery and have a happily ever after.
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to romantic suspense readers out there.
You can read the first two as standalone, but I recommend you read them in order. You will want to know Michael from the first book and you will also want to read what Kendra puts the other characters through.
I seriously believe Kendra likes putting her readers through emotional roller coasters. I will be prepared more ahead of time and that is a promise.
Kendra has become an auto-buy author for me and I look forward to her next romantic suspense novel. =)
Be prepared for an emotional romantic thriller in "Buried" and have the tissues on hand because you will need them. Don't be like me and having your husband ask why you are bawling like a baby over a book. He seriously will never understand.

  • Corporate Temptress

    Corporate Temptress

    by Stacey Kennedy
    • Rated 4 stars

My first book from Stacey Kennedy that has a complete male's point of view and it definitely did not change her writing style at all. In fact, I hope she writes more like this in the near future. I love being inside of a male's head and how they tell the story and see everything.

"Corporate Temptress" is intended for males to read, but females will enjoy it as well. Stacey Kennedy gives you two people who work for big companies and are trying to work out a merger together. Evan has been trying to finalize the details with his rival company and it is kind of hard when the CEO of that company is drop-dead gorgeous. She already had him when he talked to her on the phone, but when he officially sees her in person, he cannot help but want her completely.
Brooke is about to make the biggest and best deal with Evan. Before she agrees to have the companies fully merge, she wants him to have no-strings sex with her.
Evan cannot refuse this deal at all, and he may end up finding there are women out there that love to be in control not only in office, but also in bed as well. Brooke is about to make some of his ultimate fantasies come true.

This is one scorching quick read from Stacey Kennedy. I finished it in less than a hour, maybe even less since I did not have any interruptions. (unbelievable since I am always being pestered by a hubby or two children while reading) =)
Stacey Kennedy is one author who knows to write an hot sex scene and to have it from a male's perspective....it definitely was sizzling!
I loved the fact that Brooke took control of what she wanted and how she controlled Evan in the bedroom. Evan definitely was not used to it, but it did not stop him at all. He was up for the challenge.

I give this short novella 4.5 full moons and highly recommend it to erotica readers out there that want that quick and fast erotic read. It's only 40 pages long, and Stacey does an amazing job to keep your interest level up. It is also a great read if you are looking for a new fantasy to include in your love life with your loved one. =)
Be prepared to take a cold shower afterward, or before you read, make sure you have a very cold glass of water next you.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

  • Redemption (Seven Signs, Book 2)
    • Rated 4 stars

"Redemption" picks up from where "Revelation" left off and Erica Hayes gives us two characters who are disgraced due to what they did in their pasts and keep doing in their present.

Japheth, otherwise known as one of the Tainted is trying to redeem himself and by redeeming himself, he hopes to make it back in heaven. For him to do that, he must find himself a demon vampire that is wreaking havoc in Babylon and is known as the Angel Slayer. He also must do what the Archangel Michael wants as well, and the demon vampire can actually help him conquer that mission.
Although, the demon vampire known as Rose Harley has other plans. She never wanted to be a vampire, but it is kind of hard when the Prince of the Vampires makes her be the way she is. She did the unthinkable when she turned and she has never forgiven herself. When she meets Japheth, she cannot help but try to keep her feelings at bay with him. He is much different than other heavenly warriors. Japheth is supposed to kill hellspawn like Rose, but he cannot. He uses her to help him find her master, but he also is trying to convince himself that she can be helped.
In the meantime, the other Tainted are tackling another demon who has a vial and if they do not get it, they will have even more trouble on their hands.

This is a story of two characters who are trying to redeem themselves, but in different ways. They are trying to fight their feelings for each other, but it is kind of hard when they are so much alike. Erica Hayes gives you a world of warrior angels that are protecting Earth from the demons taking over. Although, their job is never easy, especially when some of the warriors believe their boss may be letting the demons run course without being taken care of fast enough.

I had such a better connection with Japheth and Rose in this story than the first characters in the first book. I felt more sympathy for Japheth because what he went through in "Revelation" and this story made me heart him more. He may have some bad qualities because he believed he did, but he redeemed himself in the best way in this book. He fought for what he wanted, even when he thought he was doing wrong. He did not want to give up on Rose. =)
Rose was such a evil character at first, but when her story came out, she broke my heart. The poor girl had did the unthinkable and I believe she definitely needed to be redeemed. She even put Japheth in his place several times, which made me love her more.
The only thing that kept me from giving this book even more moons, was that it started off slow, but when it started picking up, I was turning the pages to find out what happened next.
Oh...the ending is the doozy...because I have no idea what to think about two characters now....Michael and now Gabriel, who plays a minor part in this book. I'm a little confused, but to me that is a good thing.
The very ending had me in shock though. I had my mouth open in shock, literally. Erica I was definitely not expecting that at all.
I definitely look forward to the next book even more. I must find out what happens next. =)
I give this book 4 full moons and highly recommend it to urban fantasy and paranormal readers out there.
"Redemption" is full of action, sexual tension, and darkness that will keep you turning the pages.
Will the warriors win or will the demons takeover the Earth?
I received a complimentary copy of the book as a part of the blog tour in exchange for an honest review.

  • Wayward One
    • Rated 4 stars

I seriously want to gush over the cover for a minute before I go into my review.
The cover alone had me sold on reading this book. I love the colors chosen for the cover and how the cover models are placed....and the dress of course is GORGEOUS!!!

Sera Miller had a very rough life when she was younger and when her mother passed away, she went off to Waywroth Academy where she learned how to become a very proper woman and to keep herself from being disgraced from society. She never knew who took care of the expense of going to the Academy and when she finds who the person is that helped her...she is more in shock than ever.
Digger, otherwise known as Fletcher Thomas now has always felt compelled to protect and look after Sera. He has known for awhile and all he wants is for her to be happy and be loved. He knows he did bad things when he was younger, but he's trying to make up for it.
He wants to help Sera further than giving money for her to attend school and now he wants her to help him be accepted into society as well.
When Sera decides to help she is thrown into a world where she's not used to and a world where she wanted to avoid at all cost. Fletcher keeps being a very difficult man to be with and she cannot help, but start to really have feelings for him.
She's even being threaten in Fletcher's home to leave, but she has no idea who the culprit is.
It's going to be very difficult for Sera to keep herself proper around the handsome Fletcher, especially when he tends to be there for her whenever she needs him the most.

Lorelei Brown gives you a historical romance that has a lot of angst, romance, and sweetness.
She gives you two characters that you will rooting to get together because they are made for each other. They have known each other for awhile and it also helps when you have the sexy Fletcher trying everything to let Sera know he loves her and then Sera trying to fight her feelings, but she just cannot after so long. It's inevitable. =)
Fletcher is definitely a character who I adore a lot of in the story. He had his bad ways, but when he was around Sera, he was different. He stole my heart and when the steaminess happen between him and Sera....yeah...he kind of stole my heart more.
Sera got on my nerves during certain parts of the book, especially towards the ending. She kind of overreacted over something and I felt bad for poor Fletcher. Although, Sera did have qualities I loved about her. She could be difficult at times because she was all about not being snubbed by society...but she did put Fletcher in his place several times in the book when he truly needed someone to.
Overall this book definitely was a very enjoyable and sexy book from the very talented Lorelei Brown, who readers know her as Katie Porter. I had a hard time in certain parts, but other times I had to keep turning the page on my iPad. I am a sucker for a historical romance book though because I love when a author can make me feel like I am back in time and that is what Lorelei Brown did.
I look forward to reading more of Lorelei Brown's books in the very near future.
I give "Wayward One" 4 full moons and highly recommend it to historical romance readers out there.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is a GREAT deal for the first three books to Gabrielle Bisset's Sons of Navarus series and it is highly recommended for anyone who wants to read the series before the next book comes out.
Each book will leave you wanting more of the Sons of Navarus. You will get Brandon, Vasilije, and Saint from these books.

If you want to read about powerful, dark, possessive, and passionate vampires then you will get just that from this box set. These are not those sparkly kind of vampires, so get that out of your head already.
Gabrielle Bisset gives you a world where vampires are warriors and they are to be feared...but they also are vampires who are very protective and loving to the women they love and cherish.

I highly recommend this box set to paranormal romance and urban fantasy readers out there.
It will quench your thirst for the paranormal vampire world that readers have always longed for.

Saint though will ALWAYS have my heart. =)

  • After the Storm

    After the Storm

    by Claudy Conn
    • Rated 5 stars

I will say it over and over again....I LOVE Claudy Conn's historical romance books. They are seriously addicting and make it feel like you go back to a time where men literally swept women off their feet.
"After the Storm" is a novel about Jenny and how she has lost her childhood sweetheart, Johnny during Waterloo. She has told herself, she will never love another person again due to the fear of losing them.
Although, it will be kind of hard for her to not fall for the Earl of Danfield because the minute she is introduced to him, he is all that she thinks about. Jason (the Earl of Danfield) gives her a proposition of marrying him. If she marries him, he will finally receive his heritance and she will not have to endure going out during the London season like her father wants her to.
The Earl also wants to try to win Jenny's heart over even though she says she will never love again. He knows in the bottom of his heart, she is falling for him.
When the Earl and Jenny marry, he takes her to one of his home and she meets his step-mom and step-brother. While there, Jenny is almost killed and someone is out to kill the Earl. Jenny is determined to find out what is happening at the Earl's castle and get to the bottom of who wants her husband dead.
When she finally finds out who it is, she will find out the truth on what really happened to her beloved Johnny.

Claudy writes a book that is full of passion and love and how it is possible to love again after a tragedy. What I adored most about this book is that I could not figure out who was causing the trouble and trying to kill the Earl. I would think it was the step-brother and then another time I would think it was the step-mother. When I finally found out who it was, I was in shock just like Jenny was in the story.
Claudy also knows how to make readers fall in love with her characters. I had so much sympathy for Jenny and as well as Jason. Jenny for losing her loved one and Jason for trying to win over Jenny the minute he realizes he cannot live without her. They both were destined to meet each other. =)
I even fell for some of the secondary characters in "After the Storm"...one being in particular...the Earl's stepbrother. Even though, there were times I thought he was the one causing trouble, he still won my heart over. He had a way with words. =)

If you love a historical romance that has passion, mystery, romance, humor, and action, you will enjoy reading "After the Storm".

  • Wait for You
    • Rated 5 stars

Oh my, why have I not read J. Lynn or aka Jennifer Armentrout's books before now. I had literally a hard time putting down my Kindle when reading "Wait for you". From page one to the very last page, I was entranced in the words that J. Lynn wrote for the story " Wait for you".
AND....let me get this off of my chest before I explode....I AM IN LOVE WITH A FICTIONAL CHARACTER and I do not care what anyone thinks, not even my husband. I LOVE CAM!!!
He can cook me eggs and bake me goodies anytime. Just saying. =)

    J. Lynn gives you a female character, Avery Morgansten, who has run away from her hometown and gone off to West Virginia for college. She has secrets she is trying to get over and hide from that happened to her when she was 14 years old. Her first day of college and she ends up running over Cameron Hamilton. He is one of the most popular males on campus because every girl wants to be with him and every male wants to be him. The minute Avery runs into him, her world will change. She told herself she would focus on her studies, but for some reason she keeps running into Cam and cannot get him out of her head. In the mean time, she starts receiving nasty texts, unknown phone calls, and emails from an unknown person that keep bringing up her past. She does not want the past in her life..but she cannot make a future unless she talks about it to someone or confronts it.
The minute Cameron Hamilton meets Avery, he is infatuated with her and will do anything to win her over. He becomes friends to her and almost every day asks her out, but she keeps turning him down. When she finally gives him a chance, all he wants is for her to trust him and let him make her happy.
When the truth slowly comes out about Avery's past, the first thing Avery does is shut everyone out.
But, the one person who will not be shut out will do anything for her to open up to him.

This is a story about love and how you may find the right person for you when you're not even looking for that someone. Once that person is found, they will be willing to wait for you and be there for you through everything bad and good.
Avery is a character some females can relate to and Cameron is a character every female wishes could be real...because everyone deserves someone like Cam.
Avery has gone through the unthinkable at such a young age that when the truth comes out about what happened to her, all you want to do is comfort her like her friends try to do. Cameron steps up to the plate and he has to be one of my most caring and sweet male characters I have read in a long time.
He's not a jerk ladies....and this is the kind of boyfriend/significant other that should be in everyone's lives. Not those overbearing, forceful and down right mean male characters who make you feel like poo.
No Cameron is the complete opposite. Believe me you will fall in love with him the minute Avery plows into him....literally she plows into him. =) *sigh*
You will feel sympathy for both characters while reading this book.
You will also enjoy the secondary characters, Ollie (Cam's roommate), Brit (Avery's friend from school), Jase (Cam's friend), Jacob (Avery's friend from school), Theresa (Cam's sister), and even Cam's parents will win you over.

"Wait for you" is a new adult romance filled with humor, friendship, love and secrets that will have you reading this book in one-sitting.
Be prepared to cry, scream, smile, and laugh throughout this book.
If you are a fan of J. Lynn and her other books, you will enjoy this one as well. I know I am a BIG fan of J. Lynn and now must buy her other books since her writing style is friggin' amazing & addicting.
Warning though, you will want more after you read this book and like me, you'll be anxiously waiting for the next installment in the Wait for you novels.

  • Angel Bait: Book 1 of the Angel Assassins Series (Crimson Romance)
    • Rated 4 stars

Welcome to a world of Half-breed Angels that go after their sires and also are assigned to assassinate any one who dares to not abide the laws of Heaven and the Directorate. They are apart of the Eternal Order and they are not to be messed with.
Jarrid is one of nephilims who has a new mission. He is actually keeping a part of the mission quiet form the Directorate because this mission may help get him to Ascension and his brothers.
He has to track down a woman news reporter and use her as bait to get the Renegade that the Directorate wants found. He has no idea why the Renegade wants the woman, but he will do anything to get his next assignment out of hiding.
Ionie Gifford is just trying to get her next story and when an Angel or half-Angel ends up in her boss's office, she sees the most interesting story ever.
What she does not realize is that Jarrid has other plans for her, but those plans go haywire when he realizes he is falling for her and she is for him. Things are about to get even more complicated when the truth comes out on why the Renegade wants Ionie.
It is going to surprise the Eternal Order and even the Directorate, but Jarrid is going to find out it is harder to follow orders when your heart has changed course.

Be prepared to read a action-packed debut novel from Author Tricia Skinner. She takes you into a world of chaos where Angels, Warrior Nephilims, Vampires, and Shifters are all over Detroit. The Angels cannot stand the abominations called Nephilims, but they will deal with them because they take care of the Renegades who do not follow the laws of Heaven. Then you have the Eternal Order who defy sometimes what the Angels say.
In between the Angel chaos, is the vampires who make friends with the Renegades and you also have shifters that vampires cannot stand.
It's one paranormal world you do not want to mess with really, otherwise you get caught in the crossfire.
Jarrid is one "brooding" warrior...you will understand the brooding part if you read the book, who definitely is scary and overbearing at times, but he has his reasons.
Ionie is a determined, strong-willed and feisty character who is thrown into this chaotic world, but she ends up handling better than some of the other characters do.
I loved the connection between Jarrid and Ionie and they definitely were destined to be with each other. Although, Jarrid took awhile to open up to his feelings, but you would be too, if you had no clue how to handle a woman since you had never been one.
Ionie was a little annoying at times, but she got better towards the end.
I loved the flow of the writing and how everything built up at the end.
I look forward to reading more about the other brothers in the Eternal Order, especially Cain. =)
Tricia Skinner did an amazing job on the first book to her Angel Assassin series and I definitely will be patiently waiting on the next book since the Eternal Order has an assignment that needs to be done for the Directorate.
If you are a fan of the urban fantasy romance genre, this is a book you need to add to your TBR list or even read right away.
Here's hoping we do not wait too long on the next book. I want some more of these sexy nephilim brothers.
