Noticed you were readingHush by Frasier. I remember being rather captivated and repulsed at the same time by this book.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!!

Getting there! LOL. I only get a chance to sit on the computer on my days off when Thomas is in school and do all the things for swaps. You'll have your person tonight or tomorrow (we cleaned and my list has ran away LOL)

Just dropped by to say "hi!" Things are going quite well, considering my family has decided to function via Murphy's Law! I just dive into a book when things are a bit dicey...works for me! Hubby falls down a lot, boke a couple ribs last month, and managed to fall a few more times and have compression fractures in a few of his vertibrae. Step-daughter is on her way to becoming a drop-out (her Senior year) as she is too lazy to get up in the morning. Other than that, life is swell! LOL. We got a ton of work done on the house this summer. I love our new front porch railings! It's a great place to read. I'm still debating over my hubby's choice of a pale pinkish color in the family room...he's evidently in touch with his feminine side. Oh well, fresh paint and new walls always looks nice. Hope things are going well for you!!

Hi Faith! I am recommending "Dispatches from Bedlam Farm" by John Katz. I read this one about 3 months ago and I really fell in love with Bedlam Farm and all of its inhabitants. His dogs, cat, sheep, donkeys, and a steer named Elvis are charming and so much fun. I don't know if you read much nonfiction but I think you would enjoy this one. I understand that he has written several other books and I think I need to find some of them as well. Happy reading!

See, and so many people think the animals tag is only kids' books! I was a little concerned about choosing this one, as I did have a broader tag in mind as well, but I went with this because I'm hoping someone else will choose the other one later.

I've been lucky. My top two tags came in August and now (only had to wait 3-1/2 years for them to be chosen!)! :-) Although a lot of my books overlap the two tags, even.

Been offline for a few weeks, as school finally got out. Can't seem to get anything read. Instead, I'm redoing my bathroom, floor, vanity, stool, walls...what a mess! After that I intend to paper the dining room...ick! It will feel good when it all gets done. The grandkids are doing very well, but I haven't been able to get up north to see them yet. 500 mile drive. Hope the summer is going well for you!

Hi Faith, What do you think of "Eat, Pray, Love? I saw a interview with this author on Oprah, and her story sounded very interesting! :D

No worries! Just because you're in the group, you don't have to read an author every month. You can participate when you want to. You could always sign up to choose an author and, assuming you get to choose the main author and have no restrictions, anyway, you can choose someone you plan to read anyway. But, it's totally up to you. Either way, maybe those Kingsolver reviews could help, anyway.

Hi! I'm just skimming through the Barbara Kingsolver discussion at PBT. I wondered if you are part of the Author Author group? I'm not suggesting you join or anything (unless you want to), but she was one of our featured authors a couple of months ago, so you might just want to pop by and take a look at some of the reviews. Let me find a link for you...

I'm coming back tomorrow to finish my mess of a room for end of the year sign out. I hope you have a wonderful summer.

Welcome to the group based on the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die.
There is a general explanation of the group under the discussion thread GROUP GUIDELINES.
The books of the month (BOTM) that the group is reading are pinned to the top. June’s BOTM are The God of Small Things by Roy, Wide Sargasso Sea by Rhys and Midnight’s Children by Rushdie. I will post new discussion questions in June.
We are also starting something new. It will be a Long Read consisting of books from the list that are greater than a 1000 pages. The group will be starting with War and Peace by Tolstoy. Which is a May, June and July read.

hmmm, if you only got this note today, then shelfari must be (or was) running a little slow. I had that happen once before with someone else, too. Nicole, I think. She didn't get my note till way later than when I sent it.

Good luck with the grad party! Hope all goes well and you can take a break after! :-)

Hi! I was a little worried about you when you hadn't checked into the BINGO group today. It looks like you've been here today, so I hope all is well. It would be great if you could check in at the group, too! Thanks!
