I live on an acreage in Alberta, Canada with my husband our two dogs and two cats. I love to read and belong to a book club, but don't take either too seriously. There is nothing better than finding a book that you just can't put down!

I saw that you plan to read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I have started reading a book
called Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. It has a different naration style but the themes and story are similar. I am having trouble putting it down to do other things.
Its worth having a look at in the library or your local book shop.

    Hi Colleen

Sorry so late to reply. My hubby has been in hospital for a good portion of the last 2 months, so I have been a bit distracted. He is on the mend now so hopefully life will be a bit more normal.
Happy New Year to you.. hopefully you and your family are happy and healthy in 2012.
    Happy reading my friend.

Hi Colleen. I am showing friend this site. I keep forgetting to go on it. I think I should put it on my schedule! I'm busy adding books too. I'm reading rules of civility right now.

Hi Colleen. How are you enjoying Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet? I have recently bought it so wondered whether it was any good?

    Hey Colleen, How are you..

Its been busy here.. and I have been busy reading too..

I am reading Shearwater at the moment by Andrea Mayes. It is set in Australia (in a fictional town) It is ok but I am not REALLY loving it...\\

The weather is quite cold here (for Australia) so I hope you are getting some warm weather over there.

Take care and I would love to hear from you soon..

I found out today that a friend of mine has a copy of "Room" I will borrow it from her once I have finished reading Middlesex, which I started a couple of days ago.
I am out of my reading rut, which is really good.

Hope all is good with you.

    Hi Colleen,

I agree.. we have been very luck where we are that it has only been hot weather. No disasters near us either. I feel so sad for people who have lost loved ones or homes etc in Japan, New Zealand or even Northern Australia!
No I havent read Room yet. I also havent really read anything REALLY great this year either. I did read Hanoi Stories by Pam Scott which was interesting but I wouldnt rave over it.
I am trying to read some of the books that I already have piled up at hoime before I get any more..
I am about to finish Constance by Rosie Thomas which was ok but again, not great. So I will look forward to something great to follow that up.
Take care and Happy Reading.. The Book of Negroes does look good..

I have been thinking of yoiu since my last note. How do you manage to DO anything when the weather is so cold? There would have to be snow and ice at that temp and how do you go anywhere. Sorry for my ignorance but I have obviously led a very sheltered life in a city where we dont get that extreme weather.
Hope all is well with you.
