I'm a student at a university in the north-west of England. I'm in the third and final year of a Sociology degree. I'm from the north-east of England and a mature student. I have less time to read for pleasure now that I have gone back to university.

I love vampire romance/mystery books especially the Sookie Stackhouse series and the... more »

Oh yeah, I'd love to stay in touch! :) I think I may have gotten you when I did my mass SL removal on FB but I'd love to add you back there too. I know a lot of people were hurt I deleted them, but since I was quitting SL I just wanted to start fresh and only have fb for personal use. I figured I could add people back that I talked to and such. :)

It really wasn't the Angel's thing per say for any of us. It was a culmination of things, but I had been thinking about doing it for quite a while. Way back before we even switched to this new forum actually. I'm kinda just kickin' the whole SL habit, which will make my life a lot less stress free lol. I'd def. love to still chat on here though! And thanks for sending a note my way. :)

Yeah, I love Jodi Picoult books! My favorite author is Jane Austen. :) But I pretty much read anything and everything. My goal is 50 books this year, but I've been slacking this month haha.

    The Ancient One says

    An Enriching Action

A smile costs nothing, but gives much.

It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give.

It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that they can get along without it, and none is so poor, that they can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business and is the countersign of friendship.

It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen - for it is something that is of no value to anyone, until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.

Give them one of yours, as no one needs a smile so much as those who have no more to give.

Well, I think you said you'd read "A Child Called It". "A Boy Called Dave" is pretty much more of the same, only less intensely depressing.

A friend of mine had Dave Pelzer come to her college and speak. She said he said some things were "fabricated" and "exaggerated." I read all of his books and found them to be terribly sad. Then when I realized they weren't 100% true I felt like he was a freak for making stuff up. Who would do that? Then I guess his brother jumped on the bandwagon and wrote a book as well. They are good books but keep in mind that they might not be 100% true in some areas.

    Hi Katie R.
A Piece of Cake was great!! It's a great book. It's an autobiography about a woman named Cupcake Brown. She's an attorney who's been thru drugs, rape, abuse and became an outstanding attorney.

Thanks for the book information. Yeah, I have met a lot of Wiccans so I just wanted to do some more research. Is there much variation within the practice? I am Christian and I know that there can be big differences when you go between denominations.
