We have it in our church library, but I haven't read it yet. I may have to move it up on my list based on your recommendation! I haven't heard of Amon's Adventure. I'll have to check it out. We made a decision as a family to be "media free" during Lent, but we take Sunday as a feast day. Hmmm. Technically, I guess that means I shouldn't be on here writing to you! I've been allowing myself email for communication but not Facebook. It has been a good exercise for us. I think we will also go as a family to our church's Seder Supper this year. We haven't done that yet. Must go. We are having a family game night tonight after dinner. Don't want to have my head in a screen!
How do you like "Bread and Wine"?
Laura- I looked at your shelf. It is excellent. It is unusual to see A Prayer for the Dying on someones shelf. It is one of my favorites. Also I share your opinion on Interpreter of Maladies and To Kill a Mockingbird. I like to look at peoples Plan to Read shelf and rudely nudge them in the direction of favorites of mine that might be there. Yours had a few so be patient with me: The Time Traveler's Wife (you will have read nothing like it, i bet) Last Night at Twisted River (I am a huge John Irving freak and have to suggest A Widow for One Year and The Hotel New Hampshire by him too), A Reliable Wife, Never Let Me Go (Kazuo Ishiguro my be my favorite writer. I want to suggest The Remains of the Day), and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. thank you for listening. -John
I've been busy worrying about YOU and your heart patient.
Thanks for "friending" me. I had fun browsing your shelf. Kristi's shelf fascinates me. : ) I find lots of good stuff there.
Hi Laura! I finally got this up and going! At this point i only put books in the "has reads" that i enjoyed! I guess after this time i will actually have to think about what i would reccommend to friends! But that is ok since i only have one friend...you! I can see where it will be a good thing...rather than my notebook with all the chicken scratch in it!!! Thanks for encouraging me to do this! Jan
