Hi! Shelfari editor here. I approved one name change "Thakazhi Sivasankarapilla", but i'm not approving "Madhavikutty/Kamala das". You can erase this author and change it to either "Madhavikutty," "Kamala Suraiya," or "Kamala Das." New rules is that each pen name gets its own author's page.Thanks.
hAI,WELCOME TO MY WORLD
Hi ferozmsha, R u a malayalee? Uroo 's novels r very interesting to read. Read all MT's novels . Its all nice . MT's "Nalukettu". Then P.Padmarajan's novels, then sethu, Madavikutty,Malayattoor, like so many novalists...............................
Do i knoe ya dude???
I think they (NBS) doesn't offering any pre publication discount !!! . The irony is that their price is higher than their English version. In generally price of malayalam translation is less than their original , but in the case of classics it is much higher. I brought 'The Brothers Karamazov' for only Rs 95/- where 'കാരമസോവ് സഹോദരന്മാര്' is about Rs300/- I am trying to cover Dostoevsky's great works !! But I am not much confident about this great and huge books.
no news for a long time ....?some good news us (malayalam readers) . National Book Stall (NBS) reprints its great classic translations, out print for many years . Dostoevsky's കാരമസോവ് സഹോദരന്മാര് , കുറ്റവും ശിക്ഷയും etc...
Hi Thanks for accepting friendshipbe in touch
do u heard abt 'Budhasankramam' by K.Dilipkumar ? It is very different novel. One of the best novel I read in this recent years. very much readable, new theme and narration is also good. I meet M. Rajeevkumar in a book fair (he is the publisher of 'KAALAM' , and his tv program 'Kannada' in kairali tv wednesday mornig 7.15 am) in his stall . He recommend and persuaded me to buy that novel. It is a story of bisexual person.

yes , you are right, I am also reads, only few article appeared in mathrubhoomi weekly. but some times there appear good article especially about literature (last time there appear K P Appen's article , reading experience about Joyce and others.) I don't know why that article impressed me ?, may be its symbolic !!! conquering those novels looks like conquering life (taught, monotones & complex ) , with out full success , as if Ahab's fight to MobyDick.I like Poonathil's 'Smarakashila'. Do u impressed by any new generation malayalam writer (if there exist any one ?) I am living near Aluva and working in private factory. And What about you ?
I am not much impressed by Sethu's 'Adayalangal '. I read it ,when it appeared in mathrubhoomi weekly. But 'parinamam' it is a wonderful novel .The story of DOGs. I read that a long time ago but still I remember the plot and style of narration (Like a detective novel ). currently i am reading K. Aravindakshan's 'Marupathi' , not much good like his other work ('jeevaparyantham' and 'sakhimozhi'. I recomend to read this two novels. Its silence convey the sound of pain ) but it is full of discussion about the marupathi. and in all his novel we can find the philosophy BUDHA.
Nice to get a friend from Palakkad.I am at present with my brother in UAE for some time.I shall write to you later
hello FerozI don't know how u find me ? It is very pleasure to know that, there are people in shelfari who reads in malayalam also. I love reading in malayalam and most of the books in my shelf , is also malayalam translations, some time this translation lost its originality ( my knowledge in english very poor, so my choice is limited !!! ).Then u r from palakkad, I often visit there my brother-in-low is from ottapalam (cheruplassery ), and what r u doing ?
Though I'm late, still, let me tell 'happy womens' day!'
