I am a mum of 5 with a disabled husband. I love reading and have hundreds of books on my keeper shelf. Being in the UK I have to wait a long time for some of my favourite authors to be available here, but they are worth it :D

This is the second book by this author that is set in the futuristic world of The Northern Wastes. Don't worry though you don't need to have read book one to enjoy this story. The Northern Wastes are a cold and icy place who's people are under threat of a deadly virus. Tatiana is a genetically gifted female who's looking for a scientist called Tolliver who might be behind the virus, whilst at the same time trying to stay out of the clutches of the evil leader of The New Order who wants to use her genetic make up to 'improve' on the virus for himself. She meets up with the hero Tristan who has some genetic gifts too. She is not sure if he is to be trusted and the author does a wonderful job of keeping the reader as much in the dark about this as the heroine is. The interaction between the two is intense and leaps of the pages. This book had me hooked from page one with its fast pace and action packed excitement whilst still keeping an element of mystery and romance to lighten the atmosphere.

I was given this book to read by my daughter. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it but it soon had me hooked. The near human aliens who have trouble with idioms and culture was great and the 'zombies' (constructs made by the aliens that get out of conrol) are well thought out and add a touch of action to the story. However the romance is not neglected and is threaded throughout the story in a believable way that kept me reading until the last page. I am definitely adding Linnea Sinclair to my wishlist for future books.

I am currently trying to add to my collection of Pip & Flinx books having read them all from the library when I was younger. I think his commonwealth series is great but have read some really good stand alone ones too :D

I started thsi series on the wrong book in as much as this is the second one in the series. However it was good enough to catch my interest in the writings of Christine Feehan and I soon added all her Carpathians to my keeper shelf.

I first got into Christine Feehan's books via her Carpathian series but after reading this I decided my favourite series of hers was the Ghost Walkers.
This is the first in that particular series and I would recommend it to anyone who loves hot passionate sexy books with a dash of danger and intrigue :D

  • Arrows of the Queen ( The Heralds of Valdemar, Book 1)
    • Rated 5 stars

This was the first ever book I read by Mercedes Lackey and it got me hooked on all things Valdemar.
The story appealed to me in many ways with its magic and the hardships the heroinne has to go through to find a place she feels at home.
However I think the best thing about it is that Mercedes has a way of portraying even her minor characters in such a way as to make them all individuals that you can believe in.

This is the first one in a wonderful series about Vampires. I think J R WArd has managed to find an entirely new way of portraying vampires that really works for me.

Love this book. And it had less gratuitous sex than her previous ones which made it doubly enjoyable :)
