I was raised in Manhattan Beach, California, a stone's throw from Hollywood. I went to college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the early 1970’s and spent the years after college traveling around the country and the world, writing short stories and working for South Bay Magazine. I have been awarded top honors in national writing competitions.
I discovered my longing to be a writer when I was a child listening to my mother’s imaginative true stories about Hollywood. In adolescence, encouraged by English teachers who described me as a “born writer,” I began writing my own stories, as well as keeping prolific journals that chronicled my experiences, both internal and external, a practice I have continued throughout my life.
Today I live beside a lake in El Dorado Hills, with my husband Randy. I write in a book-lined upstairs study where I can look out at the lake and wildlife. I am working on a new book, “The Father Of Hollywood: The Final Event.” !
Because of my love for writing I am also a natural born reader. I belong to a local book club, in fact I founded it 10 years ago. I read a variety of books, sometimes several at a time.
I am so excited that I want to share an email I just received about my book. Hope you enjoy it to.
Hi!
Sorry for the delay...I've been ultra busy finishing our new
film...long days and all
LOVED the book! It's a missing, ENDLESSLY fascinating link to the
history of Hollywood. Thank you for researching and writing it!! I
hope it's been widely well received, as it deserves to be.
Take care, and thank you again.
