“To say that I was disappointed is putting it mildly.
I had just read Madam Charlie, loved it, and although The Tales were on my PBS wish list, I just couldn't wait, especially since there were 3 members ahead of me wanting the book.
So I went shopping on line, and awaited delivery with breathless anticipation.
If Madam Charlie was the best I had read in a while, The Tales were without a doubt the worst.
The stories are different, but basically the same: four couples meet, have sex, and go on to live happily ever after.
Except that three out of the four heroes are hardened Rakes who --the author would have you believe--wake up in the morning changed men.
The sex, then, must have been mind-blowing, to reform them so promptly and thoroughly.
One would think so, yes, but no. The author added a few props but, from where I was sitting, it was still the most boring sex ever. Certainly nothing life-altering.
I have 2 other of Ms Kelly's books on my WL, but needless to say, I am no longer in any hurry to get them.”
