Lisette

38, single, born & raised in the South. Growing up, my guiltiest pleasure was sneaking a romance novel from the bookshelf. My taste is eclectic but I do have a thing for paranormal romance (love those alpha males), erotica, period and fantasy.

  • The Wolf: A Novel of the Sons of Destiny
    • Rated 4 stars

Beatdowns and freakdowns alpha male style. Wolfer, brother #2, fulfills his destiny with Alys, the love of his life. Alys' story is attention grabbing; I loved her character. Wolfer is there to protect and serve- and he serves her up right proper.

  • The Sword: A Novel of the Sons of Destiny

Finally a story that has the who, what, when, where, why and WOW! Couldn't stop reading the first book in the tale of eight magical brothers fulfilling their destinies. The storyline made sense, there was a perfect balance of action and ooh, la, la and a cliffhanger ending. Great intro to a new author and series.

Don't miss this ride with the Wild Riders. First book I've read by Jaci Burton and it definitely won't be the last. Unique story that keeps you guessing. The love scenes are realistic and hot like fiyah. The big finale was a little long with too many details but overall this is a must if you're looking for a hot read.

Innovative love story of a modern day beauty and the beast. You can't miss the profound message of this book, which is penetrating beyond the superficial. This is a quick, fun YA read. It gave me a couple of lols and I highly recommend it for teens as it deals with many of the issues they face today.

To use handcuffs, or not to use handcuffs that is the question. A wife tires of her husband's bedroom devilry & all hell breaks loose. SK tells the story from the woman's perspective which is brutally honest & funny. His depiction of a woman's thought process is remarkably precise. The end was drawn out & didn't mesh. Oh and use handcuffs that is the answer ;)

  • The Bargain
    • Rated 4 stars

Heartwarming historical of redemption and love. A young lady bargains her womanhood to a baron to save the life of her twin brother. Although the baron has trust issues with women, he falls prey to his feelings for this lady who is hell bent on freeing her brother. Both characters are full of lascivious intent which makes this story crescendo. The side characters are intriguing and overall this story is entertaining.

Three stories of three women connected by one tragic night. Shiloh Walker has an uncanny ability of describing love/love-making and that ability is showcased in this book.
