It was a twisted road to reading in my life. Children were not encouraged to read in my house, so it was an accidental stop at the small community library. I thought I was doing something wrong! The librarian showed me around, gave me a card ( I sure wish I still had that as a keepsake), and I felt like I as important!

Good book for the beach, pretty predictable, but fun read.

I remember my grandmom giving me the movie copy she had with photos from the movie , which I still have not seen! I was 16 and totally taken away. Probably one of the most sensual stories in history.
I still remember the skit with Carol Burnet in the curtains taken from this story too and how funny that was. A great great story.

One of my all time favorite books and authors. I couldn't put this down. Loved the attention to detail and historical information. Must re read this one again.

Great coffee table book. I like to pick this up and look at the illustrations and plans and inside stories in planning disney world. It has developed a whole new vocabulary to design and engineering. Visual eye candy.

Good story, but at the time it was so down right oppressive to me. This will be another for the pile to re read. Maybe now , I'll find it more engaging.

Yes , she is whiny, pathetic, unhappy, horny and a real girl with issues. She has a nutty family.. wow, it's everyones life at some time . All the insecurity and embarrassing things that happen , now are hilarious. You can't help but love Bridget.

You can feel the tension and darkness grow as you read this. Depression is such a misusderstood an insidious disease, that affects 95 % of the population at some point in their life. It is worth everyones time to learn and feel the pain, so they recognize it and get help early.

Loved this book. It really will make you want to look at Vereers paintings and see what he was seeing so well.

I loved the book and the forward thinking Thoreau. If you can , go to Concord and find his house and walk the trails. It gave me chills after reading the book.
