I'm a 20-year-old college student who spends some of her free time reading whatever's in the house, or whatever she finds interesting in book sales. I like reading short stories more than novels, because they're pretty much more open to interpretation, plus reading them is more convenient for someone like me, a student. Hi Ericaaa,

I have actually never heard of your favorite books! I will have to check them out. I have so many favorite books, but if I had to narrow it down to just a few I would have to say that The Time Traveler's Wife by Audry Neffenegger (don't know that I spelled her name right), The Tale of Edgar Sawtelle (can't remember the author's name), Taken by Dean Koontz and The Help (also can't remember the author's name) are them! I love historical fiction and am currently reading Kate Morton's The House at Riverton, which is really good but for some reason I am having a hard time getting through it. I usually can finish a book in just a few days, but this one has taken much longer. I am also reading a pretty funny book called Retail Hell; How I Sold my Soul to the Store by Freeman Hall. It's about the authors adventures as a salesman at a large retail store such as Macy's or Nordstrom. To support his addiction to buying designer clothing he decides to get a job at what he calls "the big fancy" so that he can take advantage of the 20% discount. He sells women's handbags and some of the stories he tells about the customers are pretty funny. He also tells about working with other sales ladies who try to steal his sales. All in all a pretty easy and fun read.

    What are you currently reading?

Hope to hear from you soon,
    Roxanne

    The Ancient One says

    It's Better to Have Tried

'Tis better to have tried in vain,
    Sincerely striving for a goal,
Than to have lived upon the plain
An idle and a timid soul.

'Tis better to have fought and spent
    Your courage missing all applause,
Than to have lived in smug content
And never ventured for a cause.

For he who tries and fails may be
    The founder of a better day;
    Though never his the victory,
From him shall others learn the way.

    Hi Erica,

I hope you enjoy the website!

I used to read a lot of Sidney Sheldon years ago, but have not read anything by him in quite a while. What would you say is your favorite book of his?

Welcome to the site and happy reading!
