Wow! Check out the NPR story about Cindy McCain! Good job momma. I am so glad she is supporting her daughter.

Ack! I totally missed it! I took a quick glance and the title didn't jump out at me! Oops! Sorry about that.

Ok, guess I have a decision to make, then...

Before I go break the tie, did you want to add the book you've voted for to the shelf (We're Reading)? Remember that the votes are supposed to come from the shelf! :-) Thanks!

Hi! Just fyi. I posted a voting thread in the Book of the Month group if you wanted to pop over and vote on something. So far, two people have voted for four different books. I thought you might want to vote as well, and if there's still a tie, I guess I'll be breaking it, as you did last time. :-)

Hey, just browsing and I saw your bookshelf. Love Orson Scott Card; he is one of my fave authors and a super-cool guy to boot; I actually dedicated a book I wrote called Celestia to him. Anywho, very cool shelf; keep reading!

Thanks for adding me. I see you're reading The forgotten garden by Kate Morton right now. I like to know what you think of it, because I'm planning to read this book myself.

I can't wait to see what you think of Pigtopia. It took me awhile to get into the language, but once I did I fell in love with Jack.

i see you are planning to read Where the Red Fern Grows. i was JUST thinking of that book a couple weeks ago. i used to love it as a youngster and want to re-read as an adult. my 4th grade teacher read it aloud to the class back in the day and i couldn't wait for story time every day, even though i have never cared to be read to.

i hate to give bad reviews on books but i really did not like The Master. i think it was my least favorite book i've ever read, and probably the only one i would ever rate with a one star. nothing happened in it. if you are a fan of Henry James you might like this book, otherwise i'd skip it.

hmm...i'll have to rethink reading it then. i actually thought you had rated it a 4 when i looked at it, but i must have been looking at too many books at once.
i see you are planning on reading The Master. you'll have to let me know what you think. i won't give you my opinion until you finish so as not to jade you, but it for sure wasn't what i expected. have i said too much? =)
one more thing, i keep meaning to tell you i like your profile pic. is that a puffin? i went to ireland this summer and saw LOADS of them off the west coast. it was absolutely amazing to see them in nature and i was very fortunate. they don't hang around on land long.

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (BOTM) or you can debate the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in the choosing of BOTM and the discussions. The current books are pinned to the top for that month. There are older discussions that can be found by searching discussions. If there is any way the group administrator can help further feel free to ask one of us. If you don’t own the book the list can be found at the top in the group description or at http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845. A downloadable list of the second edition is available at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?

Hmmm. I highly prefer it to The Reader, but I love Jane Austen, and I don't really care for this one. If it's possible, I think it might be even wordier than Austen.

Sorry I couldn't help you, glad you didn't really need my help anyway. How's Rebecca coming for you? Not impressed, so it's been a difficult read for me. Better get back to reading.
