Cave ab homine unius libri

I'm a chronic insomniac, and get a lot of reading done in the early quiet hours of sleeplessness......then I spend every free minute of the rest of the day reading! I love reading.
I love horror(especially zombies & vampires) mysteries(Sherlock Holmes & Aloysius Pendegast from the Preston & Child books are... more »

Excellent zombie book from Joe Mckinney. I read Dead City a year or so ago, and just recently discovered two more zombie books! Highly recommended. Flesh Eaters is a prequel to Dead City & Apocalypse of the Dead.

A plane lands in NY, all the passengers and crew are dead.
Very reminescent of King's 'Salems Lot, and Mathesons I am Legend, authors Del Toro and Hogan prove they aren't fu***g around here,

Average vampire yarn, that ALMOST made it to above average, but Moore totally blew the ending.

Ultra gory, Jack Ketchum lets loose when a group of in bred morons (cue Deliverance theme) torment 2 couples. The infamous fish hook on the tongue will leave you hurling.

Average, I really was expecting something 'spectaular' from the way people have talked about this book.
    Not keeping, taking to bookstore.

Take a drop of Stephen Kings Mist and Under the Dome, sprinkle a tiny bit of Phantoms from Koontz, mix a giant dose of Brian Keene and you get Darkness on the Edge of Town. I don't usually compare authors to other authors, because it's unfair, but that is the easiest way to describe this book.
Well paced, extremely easy to read, I enjoyed this book. What happens when you wake up and it's still dark outside? And it stays dark? And what the hell is in the darkness?
I have issues with Keene killing off my favorite character in a horrific and very underserved manner.
Overall I enjoy reading Keene, and working in a bookstore, I recommend him alot.

    Sucked sucked sucked sucked
Dorothy Parker once stated "this is not a book to be taken lightly--it should be hurled with great force" Now you know why! She was probably reading The Lost Symbol, I would ammend her statement to include "Hurled with great force at author Dan Brown.

A female 'Hannibal Lecter' escapes, and goes after the detective she previously tortured. Cringe inducing

Nick, a crime photographer from a local paper is walking with his brother Sam, when Sam is brutally and mysteriously murdered.
I LOVED the twists in this book. You might be able to catch some of the turns but NOT all of them. Highly recommended.
Excellent and impressive first book from Craig Larsen, I will read more of his forthcoming works.
