Thanks! I'm 15. I love reading books about missionaries. I don't know what God has in store for me yet, but I hope it has something to do with the mission field. When we went to Peru, we were giving out glasses to people and so I have an interest in optometry. The couple who came to our church for our missions conference, were serving in Mali, Africa. It was so neat to hear about what God is doing there!

Thanks for accepting my invitation! We have a lot of books in common. My mom just read "To the Golden Shore" and she really liked it. I have a special interest in missions, too (I have been to Peru on a mission trip twice.) and I also have a fear of fire!

    Dear Melanie,

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm sure that God will guide you regarding being a missionary. He will show you His will, if you stay close to Him.
Wow, I'm really interested in your book! Tell me more about it, if you want.
I decided to write about Mephiboseth because there are few who heard about him and I think his story contains a lot of symbols. In fact, we are a lot like Mephiboseth and I think his story could encourage many believers, if they hear about it. I will tell you more about it, next time.
I really want to read "Changed Into His Image" and I hope that I will be able to buy it soon. Thanks for the recommendation.
    Shalom,
    Linda

    Hey,

Thanks for accepting my friend invite and thanks for your note. Like you said in your description, it doesn't really matter who I am, but that He is , and that we have the relationship with Him for which we were created. I just want to please Him and not the people around me because altogether, everything is about Him and not about us. Wow...do you really want to be a misionary? And do you write books? I have started a book about Mephiboseth and I hope that I will have time to continue writing....because I love it!
You have great books in your shelf, I have added some of those and hope that I will have the opportunity to read them.
God bless you my sister and don't give up your desire to be like Christ!
    Shalom!

    Dear Melanie,

Thank you, for the note!:) I am doing quite well as well, a bit tired of the busyness, and am very excited about the coming of autumn with its pumpkin pies (not to mention my mom's pumpkin cheesecake:), and the crispness, and the holidays....*sigh* This past two days were FINALLY cool; autumn most definitely does not feel like autumn when it is in the high 90's and very humid which is very unusual for our state. :) It was gloomy to-day, and rained a bit in the late evening, but I did not mind, for I like it very much!:) Has the weather been feeling like autumn where you live?

What was your sewing project? I would very much like to see it sometime.

I had violin lessons this afternoon, along with reading my book report book (which I am finally finished), and going to watch the Duggars at nine here. I do love dressing up for a weddings!:)

I'll have to let those words sink in for some time... There is a lot for me yet to understand. It's still really helpful and inspiring, so I thank you.

Can't wait to get a hands on those books! I'm also planning on reading my first Jane Austen novel... I have this book that includes six of her stories... Which one would you suggest I start with, Emma or Pride and Prejudice? I heard Pride and Prejudice was a bit better, so I was thinking starting with Emma. But then I guess, to each and everyone their opinions... I'm not sure there's actually one better than the other... probably just a matter of personal taste. What do you think?

Yes your profile message came and got me deep down... I could feel something resonate within me when I read your words. I think you have great talent as a writer.

I too would like to hand over my life to Him and to live only to be at His service. I've been living long enough running in circles after illusory hopes and dreams, "things of this earth", and I realize more and more that it doesn't feel the emptiness within me... I think the only viable option is to surrender to Him, to be at His service. It's tough to let go though... I'm improving slowly... although sometimes I wonder if the transformation shouldn't happen suddenly, in an instant of illumination? Or is it only after years of hard work that the transformation happens inside gradually? Well, I guess I'll have to take it one step at a time. It's like the saying goes, it's the journey, not the destination...

I'm Christian but I never followed an active christian life. Although, it is not entirely correct... I may not have went to church and read the Bible per say, but I always tried my best to help others and plant the seeds of Love around me. I always tried my best being compassionate, understanding, forgiving, etc. It is only recently, these past few years, that I have had a revived interests in the words of the Lord. It's as if they actually mean something to me now, in a deeper way...

Thank you for the book recommendations! It's awesome! I'm pretty sure they'll be much inspiring! It's exactly what I needed!
