I live in Seattle. I'm a home hospice nurse and deal with life and death every day. I have a BA in English literature. I will read anything, up to and including the back of a cereal box.

The books on my shelf are books that I've read, not necessarily books that I own. My reading list is of books that I want to read but haven't gotten... more »

I'm finding it kind of unbelievable that you and I are the only people on this whole website who've listed Prospero Lost as read. that's pretty crazy, isn't it?

it was an awesome book. have you read the sequel yet? (interestingly, ten people listed that one. weird.)

I love Bart Ehrman. Lots of good books. His most recent book is about losing his faith--after all those years of studying the Bible!

I lucked upon your blog. I enjoy reading nursing/nursing student blogs. I am a RN working as Clinical Leader (nurse manager). I am also an avid reader (or used to be) so I followed your link here. Now I have my own shelf, but have been driving my boys crazy as they have not been able to get on the computer. Ha!

My daughter just graduated from nursing school. I hope you will love it as much as she did. She's working now and is convinced this is her passion. Good luck and try to keep some time to read for fun! marti

    Hey Emily -
So far, of all the people who have books in common with me, you seem to have the highest percentage - about 20%! So it's been fun checking out your shelf. Great stuff, in my humble opinion!

I lived for 7 years in Kansas while my husband and I were in the military. I'm originally from California, spent a year in Washington also...at Fort Lewis Air Force Base. LOL...now I live in North Carolina. I just thought it was funny how much we have in common!

Jonathan Lethem is coming to Seattle Arts & Lectures in April. You should go! Good to see a neighbor here. I'm near Green Lake. What's your favorite Seattle bookstore?

I see that you have many of my books on your shelf. Would love to know what you thought of Inheritance....I love Indian writers but I felt ignorant of the post Imperial Nepal scene to truly enjoy thebook. The end was great...the return of the native to what is known even though its stifling!

BTW, I don't know if I ever showed you the picture of myself that I'm using for Shelfari, but that's Tom Morello's eye in the upper right -- cracks me up every time I see it. I went to an Audioslave concert and he tried to take a picture of the two of us. As you can see, he missed, but it's one of my all time favorite 'what was it like to meet X rock star' moments.

Yup, I'm certainly enjoying myself. :) I finished my profile and added 3 books to my reading list. I'm going to spend some time over the next few days adding reviews. Fun!
